I thought Paul supporters might be the reasonable ones, who can really discuss things. I didn't realize that you all had so much in common with redstate after all. The "I don't want to talk about it" attitude is childish.
...Saying "this should be deleted, we can't talk about it" when it was a discussion asked sincerely, in a polite manner, and only because it seems to me that it might help his campaign... that's just low...
if pausl dies we come a socialist country with K as Veep
Kucinich and Paul are from completely opposing ideologies. Saying that they should run together is ridiculous and would go against everything each of them stands for.
dmspilot00;493280 As far as calling us childish for not talking about it said:What else is it? Ron Paul has many supporters, millions I think, if not edging close to tens of millions. Not all of us were there the first time it was discussed. And we couldn't be. It is the nature of these conversations that there are many echoes, and your attitude when taken to its logical conclusion is the same as some small core of "inner party" members who act as if they don't need the rest. That is what the larger GOP is about right now, it is what the democratic party is right now. By itself it's a good reason that none of their candidates should ever be president. It is a good thing that I'm voting for Paul, and not some of his supporters, because were that the case I would simply not bother to show up.
Given any length of time for Paul's policies to start fixing things, many of the honest socialists will need to reconsider their philosophy. But by that time Paul will already have been in office. I think Kucinich is one of those that would reconsider, and I think he can help Paul get nominated and elected if he is on the ticket. Those who just vote GOP will vote for him anyway in the general election, and those that just vote democrat normally... who are they going to vote for? Hillary, who might as well be GOP herself for all the warmongering and graft, or someone who thinks enough of Kucinich to at least include him in what ends up being an advisory role?
If it were accepted, and if Kucinich would fold his own campaign, there are several primaries where democrats could switch last minute. He'd pick up another 3-5% in some of them. Maybe even more if they believed that having Kucinich on board would temper/balance some of his views.
Paul's never said that he'd not do this, though my impression was that he's at best lukewarm to the idea.
Is this even being considered? Is it impossible? Do other supporters not like the idea of Kucinich being veep?
I have said it once and I'll continue to say it. . .
If Paul picks a socialist like Kucinich as a VP candidate, not only will Paul expose himself as a true phony, but he will lose the support of conservatives like myself.
I'll contact the campaign on that awful day and ask for my donations back.
Kucinich is, like all socialists, completely unamerican, moronic, and immoral. I have had it up to here with there garbage.
What if it's 7 years in, and Kucinich only has a year anyway? What then? What if by that time, he's seen the light? If Ron Paul's ideas really do work (and I think they will), then by that time they'd be obvious that they did.
NO NO NO NO NO NO he will not do it and he'd lose my vote IMMEDIATELY
And why? Why would he lose it? Do you think it would be part of some hidden agenda, and that it would be he's about to ban guns, or levy a 90% income tax and turn us into Cuba?
Do you think he'd start agreeing with everything Kucinich said, period? Hell, do you think he'd start agreeing with even 20% of it?
Apparently everyone but me wants a symbol. I want a man that will fix things. Screw symbolism. If that's all he is, he's not worth voting for.
This is bizarre. Maybe I was wrong about him. Certainly if he's like his supporters. When I keep reading articles about stormfront supporting him, and see the blatant smears by Carlson bringing in prostitutes, I told myself that it does not matter one bit because he has no control over his supporters, and I could easily find similar with every candidate ever. I kept thinking, the man is smart, he understands what is happening and what is broken, and if we can get him into office he'll fix it. But how can that be when no one else who supports him acts intelligently?
I've said things much less controversial than this, and heard naysayers here. 2 weeks ago, I was talking about how the teaparty thing was going to be good, but that we needed to be raising money for him all along, and heard countless "no, save it all for Dec. 16". Lo and behold, the campaign comes out says later and says the same thing. If you're not thinking things through, how can any of you help him? And how can you think things through if you're refusing to think about it and posting "NO NO NO NO NO..." drivel.
You think facts persuade socialists? History and human nature proves that large scale socialism doesn't work and yet they persist in implementing it.
The VP's job is to take over if the Prez is unable to serve. You want them to be philosophically aligned. The people vote on a platform and they don't want to take the chance on a change mid-term.
