Is Rand Paul Too Short For Presidency?

Rand needs to hire midgets and munchkins staff to make him look taller.

The average height of Presidents since Kennedy has been just under 6'1".

Most of the posts I've seen have said he's 5'7", and Hillary is also 5'7", but Hillary can wear higher heels than Rand can get away with. That could make Rand look puny.

And Romney was taller than Obama. I'm not even a big Rand Paul fan, but I seriously don't think being 5'8 or 5'9 is going to hurt him at all. And if it does, it just goes to show what a complete farce our republic or "democracy" is. We might as well be electing President Camacho.

I find this whole thread retarded. If height is the only thing that matters, then why bother with this whole campaign? If the electorate is that stupid, to elect a president solely on height, then what is the point? Also, why haven't any Harlem Globetrotters been elected president? Sometimes this board baffles me with its stupidity.

Obama is tall, so he might want a third term as POTUS...
Tall yes, but he can only service the nation for eight long years.

OK then... It's got to be Rand Paul, if he wants the job.

Adding inches to his height on a message board isn't going to change it in real life, so you can stop that. No one said the tallest candidate always wins, only that it's unlikely for someone shorter than average to win, especially since the beginning of the tv era. Also, no one said height was the only thing that mattered. Good hair also matters.

stop fighting it and accept it. Generally speaking, 5'8 is a disadvantage in politics. We live in an era where height, looks and superficiality are important to the average voter. The sooner we accept that it is a disadvantage the sooner we can begin to accentuate Rand's positives like his demeanor, his humor, and wit and try to draw attention away from the fact that he is 5'8.

And, of course, the first thing to do is stop bumping this thread.

Er, um, eh, oops.

I think Medvedev, Putin and Hilary are shorter than Rand.

Europeans don't appear to have what I call a 'John Wayne Complex'. Yes, there are still superficial qualities they look for, but it's not as obvious as in the states and is probably a relic from centuries of monarchal rule. It doesn't help that we have to win over the most superficial and egotistical group of miscreants in human history -- Boobus americanus.

Mitch Daniels was being pushed as a frontrunner at one point. He is 5'6-5'7.

He might be a good running mate for Rand.

Honestly, if Rand wear's some tall boots I don't think it will matter.

Height doesn't matter as much as hair, face, outfits, etc. There are plenty of short male celebrities that get more media attention and are more liked than any politician. To further prove my point, Tom Cruise. Enough said. ^_^

Isn't his candidacy already sunk over the curly hair thing?

I totally agree and have said this in countless threads. Rand needs to get a new hair style and some coloring; nobody is going to vote for a guy that looks like he just rolled out of bed and doesn't own a comb or mirror.

Maybe a spiked mohawk? It would help with the height and the curly hair thing.

Fuck this topic. He can't grow taller and any man knows that if he cut his hair shorter he'd just get made fun of even more and in Rand's case (the curly hair) it wouldn't look any better. His ears would stick out and he'd look more like a little kid.
