Iowa PPP Poll 12/18: Paul 23%, Romney 20%, Gingrich 14%

This is where the rubber meets the road. I have to believe they are polling a lot of non-traditional caucus goers and I think that's what is giving us the advantage. This is why our opponents will pooh-pooh this poll. But it won't matter IF...we can get these people to the caucuses. If we do we can win this thing. If not, well then we're going to fighting off Perry, Santorum and Bachmann for third place. This is the task in front of both the official campaign and the grassroots for the next two weeks.

Its actually disappointing he's still running. He should drop out and endorse Paul so that its Paul 25, Romney 20.

I agree, but until he drops out, he should be the 2nd choice of all the RP folks. I think it goes to show the depth of the movement.. we still need to permeat so other candidates have a shot in the future, local, state, and national.

Sorry. That was me cleaning the semen off my keyboard.

This is great news!! But get ready for even more vicious attacks from the party and the media. They will stop at nothing to stop us. LRC links to a great article discussing the Paul campaign in the context of what happened to Buchanan after he won Iowa in '96.

Back then the MSM won. I wonder if we can be the first movement to overwhelm it.

Next stop 30%! We've come so far, can't let up the pressure now. As they always, gotta like you're 10 points behind. We got 2 weeks to hold that lead and build on it.

The majority of our supporters are young people who only have cell phones so our numbers are 5-10% higher. THat is what makes this poll so encouraging. We will win Iowa.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but those of us that were around in 07 and 08 know that's simply not true. The polls are, for the most part, accurate. Nonetheless I've never been happier! :D

You might be right but this feels different than 07/08. No matter what this is a good sign.

That's true, however, has there been an analysis on Obama's polls vs outcome? He did have the young vote all wrapped up and away from us. This time there is nobody else who's anti-war and no Democrats running.
