IOWA LETTER WRITING! We need your HELP!

How many letters are you willing and able to write?

  • Total voters
    134
  • Poll closed .
I discussed this with Bryce a bit earlier (I'm Ron from the website). I think we're confident right now we can get through all the addresses. If we start to get down to the last week and we've still got a lot, then I might be able to work with you to get a prioritization.

The tough thing will be the addresses are not in an easy format for data manipulation. You'd probably have to extract the data from Word files, merge them, do your thing in Excel and then do a new mail merge.

You're in Austin, right?

Yea I'm in Austin. Okay good you're going to write to all of them. That's good news! Another strategy is to have people who are more democratic leaning explain why they love Ron Paul to areas that vote for more democrats, independents to independent areas and republican to republican areas. I think this kind of efforts helps us to focus our energies. For example I noticed in a detailed poll that Ron Paul enjoyed much more suport in the central lakes region of New Hampshire than the other areas. So we should focus on that area first.

just posting so I don't forget the thread. need to see how many names our meetup members want.

Woot! Finished my first 30, feel up for 120 more. Wonder how many we'll get out there before we need to start printing envelope labels?

hello everyone-
1st post and want to write a few letters but haven't received an email back from bshonka.
i want to help!!!!!!!!!

heads up guys - I received 1011 names yesterday, and as of today I have 547 left. Adding these to the 1300+ I have already distributed means you guys have taken on 1800 letters! Josh tells me he also distributed at least 300 more, which means in the last few days we've started working on over 2000!

This is why Ron Paul will WIN! Because WE THE PEOPLE Support him! :D

Greetings All,

While I am printing the letters I am hand labeling the envelopes. Less of a junkmail look to them. I'm hoping more people will actually open the envelope if it is written.

That said, so long as it's a positive message you're sending I'm all for it!

I sent out another 70 yesterday, need to buy more envelopes and another 30 will go out today. I think I can get one more hundred done, but I'll have to slow down a bit.

I WISH I could do this type of data analysis!

Is there anyway we could get this started for Michigan/South Carolina? I doubt there will be time to canvass everyone in these states so a more targeted approach could be invaluable.

I am so glad to see the enthusiasm here, thanks to all.

Good or Bad?

Greetings All,

Would a follow-up telephone call to people I've written letters to be a good or bad idea? Something like:

"Hello, my name is William Colley and I recently sent you a letter about the upcoming Caucus. Would you have a couple of minutes to talk about this?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

My first reaction was that it's a great idea, it keeps Ron Paul on their mind- but then again- who really likes being bothered by someone acting like a telemarketer.. I don't think it could hurt- get ready to get into some debates on the phone though I'm sure...
