IOWA LETTER WRITING! We need your HELP!

How many letters are you willing and able to write?

  • Total voters
    134
  • Poll closed .
Question regarding the addresses - these are Iowa INDEPENDENT voters, right? In the email with the addresses, they quote this article:
http://news-releases.uiowa.edu/2007/october/102907poll-issues.html
with the most important issues according to Iowans. In the email, they quote the most important Republican issues, but these are Independents we're writing to! Last I heard, independents' priorities were much more in line with Democrat priorities.

Just something to bear in mind while you write your letters. Happy Christmas!

Greetings All,

I'm addressing envelopes today (by hand) and will probably go up to my office tonight to run off the letters/flyers. Trying to have another 200 go out in tomorrow's mail.

The better Ron Paul does in Iowa the easier time he'll have in the rest of the States. Please everyone who hasn't done so, take at least 20 names and write letters this weekend.

Is it too late to be effective with this? And should be handwrite letters (man thatd take forever..) or should be type them, or what? Personalize, or generalize?

Hand written personalized seem like they would be the best bang-for-buck and would get people genuinely interested. Thoughts? I'd like to help out with Iowa letters potentially, though it seems sorta late to get started...

Also, how long does it take the letters to get there?

For me I'm printing off the letters with the addressee's name/address at the top, signing them by hand, and hand addressing the envelopes.

I think if the letters go out this weekend they will reach Iowa in time. Anything later try for New Hampshire or Michigan or South Carolina.

But Iowa is critical! The better Ron Paul does there the more momentum he will carry into the rest of the early primaries.

Please, if you are reading this and haven't done this, please take the time to get just 20 letters out this weekend.

I would think that if they are mailed on Christmas eve, they might be OK. Still worth writing. We need all the help we can get.

PM me if you need some addresses now.

Greetings All,

I'm printing out letters/flyers and stuffing envelopes even as I type. So many people doing so much of their own accord, this is what FREEDOM is supposed to be!

Please, if you haven't done so, take 20 names and send Christmas cards/letters to Iowa. The better Ron Paul does in Iowa the easier job he will have in the rest of the primaries!

Final call for Iowa! We need to mail out a ton of letters on Monday!

If you need a few addresses, PM me.

I think you can mail them as late as the 29th to be effective in Iowa. If the letter shows up 1 day before the caucus that may be more effective to some people.

I am a precinct captain and have a list of people in my precint (Cedar Rapids, IA) who have voted in previous caucus elections... because they have voted in previous caucuses, I think these are important letters.

This precint is all middle class households. Living in this precint and having made several hundred phone calls, I would speculate one issue good to include in these letters is national debt & a balanced budget (I dont' know why, I have just noticed it comes up fairly frequently during phone calling).

PM me with an email address, and how many addresses you would like. As few as 5 or as many as 100 is fine provided you have a high post count on these forums.

Greetings All,

I put the final 200 of a grand total of 541 letters in the mailbox yesterday. Thanks so much to everyone who participated in this! I see some threads showing that Ron Paul is now polling in double digits in Iowa! Hundreds of thousands of Iowans have gotten personal letters from real people talking about Ron Paul, not just campaign mass-mailings. I have no doubt this will have a significant impact on the outcome of the caucuses.

I won't be signing on for South Carolina or New Hampshire, since I've already spent a few hundred dollars on stamps and envelopes and paper. Assuming my wife doesn't completely freak out on me I think for my next goal I want to buy a couple thousand bumper stickers and start getting Ron Paul's name recognition up here in Mississippi. We're sort of at the bottom of the pack when it comes to support for the good Dr. so I've got lot's of work to do here at home.

Again, there are so many folks in this forum, in the meetup groups, there's the Blimp Squad, guys buying full-page adds in major newspapers and going door-to-door in freezing New Hampshire, and projects I don't even know about all going on spontaneously without any top-down control. It makes me excited and proud to be part of it. This Ron Paul phenomena is a microcosm of what America should be like and will be like once we put him in the White House.

I have done 32 handwritten letters. :)
But I am really broke, and stamps aren't a luxury I can't afford, especially since I am in the process of moving, and I gave $200 to RP already. :(

Don't worry -- we all do what we can, and you've still done more than most. If that's the limit of what you can do to help the campaign, that's all anyone can ask of you. I thank you.

Too late to write to Iowa but for those who did PLEASE call some of the people you wrote!

I just spent 20 minutes talking to a man and wife who were going to vote for Clinton and had a great conversation. They had gotten my letter and they both were interested in learning about Ron Paul and said they would be looking him up on the internet! I can't say I converted them but they are willing to learn more about him!

Call those you wrote, it could make a huge difference

Called about 100 names on my list tonight, at least 6 were interested in finding out more about Ron Paul. I wish it were higher but that's better than nothing. I'll try some more names tomorrow.
