Introduce yourself! Who, What, Where, Why!

Hello, my name is Ron, 47 yrs. Lifelong democrat who finally woke up from a coma last year when I read about Ron Paul and his supporters. It is frustrating to see how the MSM manipulates the sheeple but I believe with determination we can win. Never surrender. Your children and grandchildren will thank you.

Hi,
My name is Mary I am 52, and I am a teacher in Georgia. I have always "voted", but was a typical American who thought that was all there was to it and went on my merry way. I have slowly been waking up and coming out of this stuper we have been in for many years. Please help wake up Americans. Ron Paul's message --- when heard--- rings a bell, a chord not heard for so long it has almost been lost under the coruption, cowardness, and corporate rule this country has been under. When people hear the message they think,"Hey, that is right. He is right. I remember something about a Constitution and the rights, freedom, and liberty we are supposed to have." WAKE UP AMERICA and you had better do it now. I am thankful I am now a politically active American and will no longer take those rights and freedoms for granted"

Hi, I'm Holly, single (2 cats, but avid dog lover), and soon to be 33 y/o. If I had to describe my political views it would be a combination of constitutionalism, libertarianism, and conservatism, but I am liberal on some things too. I have no religious affiliation but lean towards a new age/buddhist mindset. I have said for a long time I would never vote again because my whole life I've known that voting was a farce and always the "lesser of two evils", well finally we have someone who isn't and who I actually agree with on a lot of things! The only thing I really disagree with RP on is abortion, and I'd probably even say I wouldn't take it past the 1st trimester, but this issue to me is way less important than the possible collapse of our country. I first started hearing about RP thru Mercola.com newsletters (alternative health website). I am also convinced RP is the only candidate who will protect our rights to dietary supplements, organic food, and reign in the power of the FDA. These are important to me due to chronic health problems I have been dealing with most of my life that regular Dr's with RX drugs can't seem to fix. The other thing that upsets me greatly is the Iraq war and the US being a busybody in other countries' business. That needs to end. I am for PEACE and I don't believe that is ever attained by attacking countries, and in this case the real reasons for the war are not what the establishment says they are. I am sick of the MSM and the propaganda spewing daily from my TV set. It makes me sick and it makes me sick to know how many people fall for it. I am really, really afraid for the future of this country. Something must be done to change the tide, or our remaining years on this earth will not be good. I will vote for RP until the end...if he doesn't get the nomination, I will vote for him as a third party candidate, or write-in candidate. Nobody gets my vote but RP! I switched my voter registration from IND to REP so I could vote in the FL primary, on my birthday, 1/29. I have convinced my mom to do the same.

I am so inspired by all the people putting forth so much effort to this cause. I wish I could do more than just vote, but my health is not up to par at this time.

LET'S WIN THIS!!!

Holly

I'm Mike, 26 years old married to a girl who is far too hot for me and we have 3 kids. I am near Syracuse NY.

Been doing lots of homework, and it is obvious that Ron Paul isn't just the best choice, he is the only choice.

I don't agree with him on every position, but I can't fault the reasons for his stances.

It's about time our cookie cutter pre-selected candidate days ended. Let's get someone real in there. We can help him change the country for the better.

Hi there I live in Miami Beach and I am a Ron Paul supporter. I am 35 and I have never voted before. I registered Republican specifically to vote for Ron Paul. In my opinion, the economy and monetary system is the single biggest issue that we face. You all know why.

Hi Julie,

I see you are from Pasadena, a beautiful city that I visit once a month for meetings at Caltech.
I was one of the 30 Ron Paul people that marched ahead of the Rose Bowl parade in Pasadena two weekends ago. I hope you saw us, as we marched for 3.5 miles in front of 1 million people waiting to see a parade all night long. This parade, which is nothing but a big commercial for large corporations like McDonald's, may look OK on TV, but it is a completely different spectacle in person.

The real fun in the rose parade was the pre-parade Ron Paul march, which NONE of you saw on TV, but was filmed by lots of expensive TV cameras, to be left on the cutting room floor. You may have gotten a glimpse at the seven people holding up the human size-letters spelling out R-O-N P-A-U-L. TV watchers missed most of the fun. The aircraft skytypers were flying over us with the Ron Paul letters right over Colorado avenue in the sky. A handful saw this, while millions watched.

I am Kathren. I am a 23 year old cherokee/irish cross breed. =P Also a lesbian.

I hail from south central rural Oklahoma, am a factory worker and aspiring writer. I have been a fan of Paul since 2006 (when I first read of him) and consider myself a conservative libertarian. I have been spreading the word about him on several internet sites and have been been trying to think of crafty ways to interject him into conversations at work.

My mother is a Southern Democrat, and even though some of the things Paul says scares the bejesus out of her (silly commie evangelical) she's pro-Paul too now. Shame she can't register republican to vote for him in the primaries. People of all types can get behind this message, remember that.

New Kid on the Block

Albert Einstein was quoted as saying, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.”

All the presidential candidates, with the exception of Dr.Ron Paul, essentially plan on running the country in the same manner to which it’s being run now.

In all my years of voting, I have never voted republican, wouldn’t even entertain the notion of voting republican, that was until I spent this past 7 years living in England and read what Dr. Paul had to say. There are other blogs and forums that speak of the NWO, some say it exists, some say it’s nothing but scare mongering. After having 7 years of the EU, call it what you like, but one international government is what the EU are pushing for and they will stop at nothing to get it. They don’t need your vote to get it, they don’t need my vote to get it, all they need are the politicians in their pockets…you know the old saying, ”Money talks and..well you know the rest”. The only way this can be stopped in America is if a president, who is not willing to jump in bed with this lot, is elected.

I’ve seen a beautiful England, stripped of its proud heritage and raped of its wealth. The EU is sucking the life and soul out of this nation. The indigenous population is fleeing like rats from a sinking ship. PM Gordon Brown refused to hold a referendum on the EU Constitutional Treaty because he knew that the British voters would tell the EU to get stuffed. Gordon Brown signed the treaty in Lisbon two hours after every other European leader had signed it, on his own, behind closed doors and was the only one of the 27 Euro leaders missing from the official press conference that day. He sold this country down the river just like Giuliani, Huckabee, McCain, Romney, Clinton, Obama, etc will do to America. Dr. Paul is the only one who had the nerve to stand up for America and her people. The people who get up and go to work everyday to support their families and who have to pay an exorbitant amount of tax so BIG government has the money to continue to micromanage every aspect of our lives.

Has anyone heard of the term “Common Purpose”? It’s not just an epidemic that Europe is experiencing, it’s a pandemic that’s coming to a country near you! I hope people won’t be so naïve to think it won’t happen in America. We need to start defending OUR country from the inside out and taking care of our dirty laundry before we go sorting anyone else’s out. A good start would be electing a leader who wants to run the country on the principles in which it was founded!

Dr. Paul is right, when are people going to realize that 9/11 wouldn’t have happened if we weren’t poking our nose into places it didn’t belong. And realize the Iraq war isn’t a “war on terror” it’s a war to control the oil. When are we as a nation going to wake up to the fact that we need to come up with a alternative source of energy? I’m not a tree hugger by any stretch of the imagination, and I'm not a conspiracy type person, however, why the hell are we still relying on the combustion engine which was made popular in the mid 1800’s in 2008 when just about everything from that era is outdated? Why are all the designs for motor vehicles that are powered by something other than the combustion engine quickly bought up and buried?

The United States is a massive place; we have the tropics of Hawaii, to the frozen tundra of Alaska. We have deserts and mountains, we have more space than we know what to do with, we have the knowledge, hard working individuals and land mass to produce just about everything we need. So why aren’t we telling the Middle East to stuff their oil and China to stuff their cheap lead laden toys? In order to be a truly strong country we need to be self-supporting. If the U.S. wants to be a world leader then we need to lead by example, not by force.

No one likes a bully! I’ve been living in Europe for the past 7 years and I can tell you from first had experience that the rest of the world, in general, does not like America. The nation, not the people, is viewed as a bully imposing OUR will on other nations. New Orleans was a national disgrace. I lost count of the number of people who asked me, “How can America send troops over seas to fight for control of the oil but let her own people in New Orleans suffer and die?” I was absolutely mortified and ashamed to be an American at that point. Most Americans may think the war in Iraq was a war on terror but the rest of the world know the truth.

I've been working in intelligence for the past six years. Before I got into intelligence led law enforcement I never really thought about privacy issues, after all, who the hell would be interested in me? I must admit, in law enforcement all this information can be quite handy, however, where does it stop, where do we draw the line? I've read where some HMO's in the U.S. want to use microchip implants, like the kind we put in our pets, that keep all our medical data on it. From what I read, at this stage it's only voluntary, but with the power these HMO's have in Washington, how long will it be before they are mandatory? And coincidently these microchips can be tracked by satellite. I've seen things from the inside and it's scary! This is a fact, once our privacy is gone, we will never ever be able to get it back.

I am a registered oversees voter and will be voting for Dr. Paul. No matter how the other candidates dress it up, they are all socialists.

Well, my name is Steve. I sell car parts and am a Libertarian Anarchist, with a strong belief in social darwinsim. I have concluded that the best president this country ever had was Teddy Roosevelt. We need him now, with Otto Bismark as Sec of State.

I had voted Libertarian most of my life, though in the 80's, I did vot for Reagan, and recently voted for Bush when the alternative was Kerry or Gore. No regrets at all about that decision.

I wish I could say I was voting for Ron Paul, but until I understand his understanding of the consequences he wishes to engender with his changes, I prefer the safety of the economic melt-down that will be far less savage than the one his policies would create.

I am here mostly because the wide variety of sychophancy ajmongst some of the supporters here has kept me looking at this with amusement and initerest. Some of the ideas are great, but putting too much faith in any one man is foolish and futile. Even if Ron Paul got the White House, he would be a lame duck from inauguration on. Unless he wants to grab for enough power in the presidency to make his changes, then he would be politically similar to other thugs in office, like FDR an such.

Still, people need hope, and beside some of the One-World crap floating about, and some shrieking Marys, there is hope and idealistic zeal here you do not find in any other place.

I am a Teddy Roosevelt fan myself... but Teddy would also tell you a few things about freedom. Yeah, he was really pro-war. But he also believed heavily in the rights of the people and every vein in his body would burst with the surge of anger that would over come him at just how the current political machine stamps on our rights.

Which is what this is about for me. I care more about domestic issues than the war right now.

I need to fetch my big stick.

Sweden for Ron Paul!!!(at least one of us)

Hello! My name is Niclas and i´m lives in Sweden and studies economics.Have been following Ron Paul for a couple of months now and all I can say is that if he doesn´t win the president election my hope for a peaceful future is almost gone. If we had anyone like Ron Paul in Sweden i would be part of that persons election immediately just like you are part of Rons election.
If Ron would win the election that would not just help you the americans, that would also help the whole world since a lot of other countries would hopefully change their policys too.

If anyone could tell me if i´m able to donate to the official campaign i would be grateful.

If not am i able to donate to some of the unofficial "campaigns" such as the blimp or so?

GO RON PAUL!!!

Cure for Apathy?

I am Michael Perkins, an independent filmmaker from Savannah, GA.

I have been politically apathetic for quite some time (probably since November/December 2004). I had no real interest in the election this year and wasn't planning to vote. I was gearing up to tell those who might ask me why when I realized I needed a stronger understanding of the reasons why I wasn't going to vote. I sat down and spent several hours going through YouTube debates, candidates' websites, candidates' own personal writings (if such a thing existed) for every candidate I knew of: Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Socialist, Constitution Party (both my wife and I voted for Michael Peroutka in '04). By looking in depth at the issues each candidate spoke of, the depth of content, the quality and candor with which they spoke, and then the way each candidate was spending their campaign money, I became a Ron Paul supporter. It was kind of frustrating because I really didn't want to cast a vote at all but then I found one candidate who spoke with clarity and conviction about issues with which I strongly agreed.

I continued to read about Ron Paul and by doing so continued to read more about the mainstream candidates in the GOP. The more I liked Ron Paul and his message, the more I hated Rudy Giuliani's ridiculous "As someone who helped the great city of New York through 9/11..." bit, and buzzwords which seemed to be tailor-made for the GOP election like "global terrorism." The mainstream media coverage of Paul has been appalling (no pun intended) and thereby continuing to maintain the perception of "electability."

I have continued to have interest in tracking the campaign and it's grassroots movement because it is both something that I believe in and it is an interesting sociological phenomena which could transform the ways campaigns are run in the future, hopefully for the better. I have been lurking on this site for the last few days, reading about where action is taking place and the immediate response of the grassroots and I am just thrilled. I thought I would finally register so that I could offer my comments occasionally.

Hi, I'm Jim in Rochester, NY. I have admired Ron Paul for years and occasionally have gotten him some press in the letters to editor sections of local to national papers. I have been in the third party area for years but joined the R recently to help in NY. I will go to the Convention as an alternate if he wins the all or nothing primary here next month.

Ron has been doing well. His vote percentage average between Ohio and NH gives him 4th place. That's ahead of Giuliani, Thompson and Hunter. It is just one spot out of 3rd. As he has consistently come up in the straw poll and media polls I feel he will do the same with the actual primary votes too.

I am going to try to give some campaign strategy ideas in the other section of this forum soon.

I'm Laura in Utah. I've been a small government type of girl since 5th grade when my social studies class discussed the differences between a large central government and smaller state governments and vice versa. I was the only kid in my place to argue, rather passionately, that a small central government was the better choice. :)

My husband introduced me to Ron Paul 8 or 10 months ago. We're both stark raving constitutionalists and are thrilled to see a candidate such as Ron Paul.

We've got signs up on our house and cars and talk about Ron Paul to anyone who gives an ear. I've got my brother converted. ;)

Notary In California For RON PAUL

Hi everyone my name is Nickki. I am a Notary Signing Agent in San Jose, CA. My husband and I are STRONG supporters of Ron Paul. In Fact we believe he is the only hope for our nation. If he is not elected we are doomed. Things will get some much worse. What is interesting is that Ron Paul running for president has woken up a lot of americans, but so many more are still asleep. We need to do everything we can to waken those still asleep.
