Introduce yourself! Who, What, Where, Why!

Hi!

My name is Brian, I work for child services in Indiana. I have been waiting my entire lifetime for a candidate like Ron Paul to have a real chance at winning the presidential election. I pray that he keeps his word and by the end of his administration the IRS and Federal Reserve are no more. I was absolutely thrilled to find a candidate that supports bringing our troops home, ending the death penalty, and takes a pro-life stance. I believe whole-heartedly that we need to stop our culture of death, and stop making excuses for taking human lives. I am also encouraged that Dr. Paul has said that he does not want to cut Americans off that have become dependent on government; while I do advocate that welfare eventually be phased out I believe it a matter of moral obligation to not suddenly take away what was promised to someone. Let's get this man elected!

Hi my name is Mike, I'm in Louisiana and have been an RP supporter for a couple months now.
Having spent the last 18 years of my life in the Army, serving in Desert Storm and OIF, I am tired of seeing the constitution that I have sworn an oath to defend being flat out ignored by our federal, state, and local governments. I will vote for Paul, I hope he makes it to the Presidency. At the very least I hope this campaign brings attention to the fact that so many of us Americans have grown weary of our government's current practices, policies, and procedures.

Hi, My name is John and I'm 35 years old from Pompano beach, FL. I have been a Ron Paul supporter for about 12 years and I didn't even know it! I never had much interest in politics because I believed that all politicians were just a bunch of self centered cronie bastards and wanted nothing to do with them. Several months ago, you guys (the grassroots) and your shenanigans caught my attention. I looked into Dr. Paul and said holy s#!t! This guy is a patriot! And he's running for $#@$%^& President! It's nice to meet you all. For the record, I don't believe my nick to be true. I just thought it was a catchy title. :) You have to first be liable for a tax in order to protest against it, yes? :)
 
I agree with you on prayer. I find that at the end of each day I lay my head on the pillow and I recall the things I was supposed to have done, or the things that didn't go well or discouraged at how little my contribution seemed to be, I remind myself that in the overall scheme of this election it is not the power of one, but of of many. And the eventual end of my personal journey, it is the power of ONE and not many. In these things I can rest and prepare for another day, relax and turn it over to Him that cares, and rest in knowing that He forgives, and cares. And HE is able to make changes, when ultimately no one else can. I ask him to stretch the dollars, He does. I ask him for peace and He gives it. I believe that He is able to do everything on a larger scale that he does on the personal scale.
I probably lost a lot of people at this point but thats OK, just like passing out slim jims, some people are going to get it and some aren't, it is not our responsibility.

My name is Steve and I am an alternative health care practitioner. I have been a member of the Libertarian Party since 1981 and I agree with much of Ron Paul's positions.

I do think the border wall is a stupid idea and that we need to take away the freebie incentives that draw non-working, sick, parasites to the U.S.

If you look back inhistory, there was a time when people traveled without passports, anywhere they wanted.

Now that's freedom!

and I'm new in politics because I'm still in high school, but I've done some work for Ron Paul and if I can't vote for him I might as well find as many people who will for me!

And I firmly believe that his positions about the country will bring it back to the righteous virtues we had when it started. And a vote for Ron is a vote for the future of our nation.

So that's me. =) I'll be lurking around here for a while.

All Voting Must Be Done By PAPER

Hello, all. I'm here to introduce myelf using a blog post I entered on Mark Joyner's blog. http://www.markjoyner.name/logs/archives/news/clearest_case_of_media_bias_in_history_or_something_else.php#comments

I'm a Canadian who is very much interested in what's going on in the US. I have an affection for the American people (that's "people," and not the government)and what you guys, my "big brother," are going through.

I've done some of my own interesting research that would probably be too much to go into here (and maybe too much for some people to take in at once), and I conclude that Ron Paul is whom I think would be best for the US, and the world.

I actually went to his site and wanted to donate, I got all the way to that secure page and read the regulations, but unfoutunately, only Americans can donate, not Canadians like me.

What's interesting is that I usually lean toward the side of the democratice candidate.

INTERESTING THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND (these are just my opinion)

1. I think that too many people are caught in the Republican vs Democrat dicotomy. It happened to me to, where I identified which party I most resonated with, and would blindly support that party, but now, after the research I've done, I DON'T THINK THE SEPARATION between the donkey and the elephant are as real as people subscribe to.

But there are, shall I say, powers that be that would make it seem so, and they have done a good job at that.

2. In order for Ron Paul to win ALL VOTING MUST BE DONE BY PAPER. This online/electronic voting thing I've been hearing about...it's just too...what's the best word...corruptable.

3. Without revealing too much, I think (and I have reason to believe) that there's a very subtle but incredibly powerful war going on between the American people and the American government (or the powers that be). I never used to think that there's a separation between govenment and people, but I really think there is.

It sort of scares me to be even typing this, because everything can be tracked, and the powers that be won't like what I'm saying, but so be it. I'm going to use my powers of free speech...

4. The Internet, and it's evolution into Web 2.0 has been one of the best things to happen to us. I don't think the powers that be saw this coming.

5. We must protect the internet against regulation. This is the one communication channel that we have to share our ideas. We can't let anyone take it away from us or even regulate it.

AD USAF for 22 years and still kicking.

Became interested in RP when I saw him on the Morton Downey jr show as a kid..forgot all about him until I saw George Will comment on him. I did not put 2 and 2 together until I saw the old video on youtube.

His judgement on the war in Iraq prior to the invasion is what sealed the deal for me.

I'm Mrs G, a long life republican and now a Ron Paul supporter.
I didn't even know Ron Paul was running for President till last month when I was doing some online research on Eminent Domain. I read how Ron Paul felt about stopping special interests from violating property rights, and I couldn't agree with him more. Matter of fact, most of what he stands for I believe to be true and no one else comes close.
 
Hi folks, I'm 43, a naturalized US citizen since '79 and a new supporter of Dr. Paul.

I'm not an issues voter. Issues, important as they may be to me, take back seat to the Constitution. When I took my oath of citizenship I vowed to defend the Constitution against it's enemies, be they foreign or domestic. Seems that most of my effort in defense of the Constitution has been against domestic enemies, namely American citizens who view the Constitution as nothing more than a worthless piece of paper to ignore.

Issues are important. But any issue not addressed in the Constitution is the responsibility of the states and not the federal government as per the 10th Amendment. Strange how our society will make a big deal over rules not followed in a game of football, baseball or Nascar... but when the Constitution isn't followed, it's not a big deal.

Anyways, I've just recently began transferring binary digits from my bank account to Dr. Paul's campaign with the hope and desire that he will defend the Constitution against it's enemies. Time will tell. See you in the trenches.

I'm Erik from Southern California. I am a professional artist, small business owner and entrepreneur. I am an individualist and don't usually participate in the political process. I was planning on voting for Doug Stanhope this year as a joke and a snub to the system. Then I left for six months to hike the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada during which time I had no idea what was going on in the world. When I returned in October I discovered the Doug had dropped out and Dr. Paul was not only running, but getting a lot of support! This energized me to give politics one last shot. I've known of Dr. Paul for several years and have always been a libertarian (though I only discovered there were others like me about 5 years ago). I'm a big fan of the late Harry Browne. He personified the polite, dignified, enlightened individualist just as Dr. Paul does. Libertarians are such good people. I think it takes a certain amount of goodness and faith in humanity to let people do what they want and not try to impose your will on them even if it means they might hurt you or themselves.

I have supported Ron Paul, donated, and spread his name throughout my family, friends, and school since August. I am here to help Ron Paul win in 2008 and to also help elect the optimal congressmen too, which I am sure this movement will be doing soon.
 
My name is Helen and I am an architect in Australia.I found Ron Paul on Youtube about 4 months ago and I have become a huge fan. I have watched from afar his grassroots campaign take hold - how exciting it must be to be over there and in the midst of it.

I have donated to "Chipin" groups and joined the Sydney meetup group. What you are doing over there is so important, not just for America. Much love and support from Australia.
