Hello there
I'm Michelle and I live in Santa Cruz, California. I'm of mixed ancestry - Shawnee American Indian and mixed European. I worked in high-tech overseas in Thailand for many years before I became a mother and decided to continue my education in the geological sciences.
I was an independent until I learned of Ron Paul's views. I strongly believe in our Constitution and am outraged that the supreme law of the land is not being upheld by either party. Because of my family, and the amount of travel I have done, I have an uncommon viewpoint. I'm watching this country being taken over once again. . . this time by weasels in Washington and Wall Street and by illegal immigrants. I see the poorest of the poor in this nation, living on reservations having to compete with chinese knock-offs and those who live off the reservation competing with labor jobs that illegal immigrants take. Many of my indian relatives and friends have fought in wars, some of them have died, protecting our freedoms, yet they are invisible to the public, unless someone talks about casinos or the history books.
One thing I can tell you is this... the standard of living is going to change drastically in this country, if this "billionaire bail out bill" is passed because it increases the deficit into the trillions of dollars. It will effectively make economic slaves of our children for generations. As someone who has seen the long-term impact of slavery and genocide, both here and in another country, I am fighting with all of my will. There are few people in politics I can say I believe are telling the truth. Ron Paul is one of them. David Walker, the former US Comptroller is another.
I think people had better pay attention and act now because there is a shift taking place and we are losing freedom little by little. Our children deserve better! I cannot underscore that enough.
Both parties have an invisible hand routing around in our pockets and are eroding our rights. Just the other day Sen. Feinstein replied to a letter I had written (and now I see it was a canned response to everyone) and she said something that deeply disturbs me . . . she referred to this money as 'government money' not taxpayer money. The popular media also deeply disturbs me because they are blatantly withholding information from people and obfuscating facts.
Watch your backs people because you or your children might just find yourselves in a third world country sooner than you think. I've lived in one and many of our reservations here in America, although largely invisible, are representative of the third world. If you don't believe me, take a road trip to the Pine Ridge reservation near Mt. Rushmore . . .
