Introduce yourself! Who, What, Where, Why!

Hi my name is Matt, I am an ex Navy special boat unit member...was stationed in the Persian Gulf, broke my back while supporting Seal operations (boarding vessels etc etc..) Was discharged and went on to real estate etc..I am self employed.

I just recently heard about Ron Paul....I had actually joined the GASP! McCain campaign only because he was a vet himself. I guess I was disillusioned with how well he sounded back in 2000...but he has changed.

So after hearing about Ron Paul on the internet...believe it was a You Tube video and reading comments I decided he is my man...a founding father re-incarnated....

I will stand my ground with him till I die....he makes people proud to be American again!

HOOYAH !! RON PAUL!!

I will be planting my own veg garden soon, and that is what I eat. I love animals, but do not eat them.
I am interested in nutrition and farming issues, and am glad Ron Paul is too, as there is no way we can continue effectively without our good health.
I have previously avoided politics, but I do think this IS our country's last chance, so I am doing all I can to be certain Ron Paul is elected. I, too, am looking forward to being proud of being an American again. Love, thuja

My name is Brent, I'm 28 from Alexandria, LA. I'm the vice-chairman of the libertarian party of louisiana. I have ran for public office twice under the same message Ron Paul carries.
I am currently the vice-chair of the committee to elect T. Lee Horne III for governor.
I was born a politician and can help Ron Paul's campaign in many ways here in my homestate of Louisiana.
Laissez-faire !!!

A reason to hope.....

My name is Allen and I live in Fort Worth, Texas. I am a customer service response specialist for BMW of North America.

I was grassroots Republican activist all through the '80s. Precinct chairman, election judge, poll watcher, phone bank volunteer, convention delegate; I did it all. Until it finally dawned on me that the actions of the GOP did not come close to matching the rhetoric. Politicians lie to get your vote and sweat, but then want you to shut up and let them do whatever it was they had intended to do all along. What an idiot I was!

I've been following Dr. Paul's career since I read 'Freedom Under Siege' back when it first came out. I was impressed to say the least!

I worked hard for Pat Buchanan in '00 here in Texas. He was ready to deliver the foreign policy that Bush promised, you know 'humble' with no nation building and such.

Since '00 I've been moving in a libertarian direction. With Dr. Paul's candidacy I've been given a reason to hope the the Republic might yet be restored. It's always better to hope than to despair. I'm committed to doing whatever I can for the good doctor.

When Dr. Paul stood up at the NH debate and took the others to task over there warmongering, I was brought near to tears with pride. Here is one man crying out for sanity and humanity. Win or lose we've got to do everything we can to help him get this message out. People hear it and the common sense of it hits them like a thunderbolt. This is not the same old political doubletalk they have come to expect. This is the plain truth, and it couldn't be more refreshing.

I'm Ron Paul Fan from Austin, TX. I first heard of Dr. Paul about 10 years ago when he came back to Congress. Ever since then I've devoted my life to spreading Ron Paul's message of freedom and liberty.

The biggest issue I agree with Dr. Paul on is a foreign policy of non-intervention, and I'm the only one here promoting that we use this for the forum as well. I have been disgusted lately with the ideas some people here have come up with like using bombing and invasions to promote Ron Paul. I rise to urge the forum to think twice before thrusting us into a war without merit-one fraught with the danger of escalating into something that no member on this forum will be pleased with. We should mind our own business and take the advice of our founders.

Anyway, I think that Ron Paul is the best candidate on both sides running for President. I'm a free market guy so I would never support any of the Democrats. I'm also fairly liberal on social issues so I guess I lean Libertarian. All of the other Republican candidates are war mongers and interventionalists. I don't like the cut of their jib. So here I am on the Ron Paul forums trying to spread his message and I think I've been doing an exceptional job so far. We still have a long way to go though, but with people like me and Ron Paul leading the way I think we're in good hands.

Hi All,

I am 30 years old, an accountant, and live in Portland, OR with my husband. He introduced me to Ron Paul. I could have cared less about politics before the debates. But Ron Paul has made me into a believer.

I now bring up Ron Paul whenever I can. My husband and I were at a furniture store last night to pick out a new recliner. Up comes the salesman, and my hackles rise. I instinctively shy away from salespeople because of the strong sales tactics employed. But I just decided to smile and try to take this opportunity to sell the salesman - on Ron Paul. So when we were asking about delivery, the salesman said, "Well, it comes in a big box and we'll set it up for you." Big box? Perfect! "Oh, Sweetie," I said to my husband, "we could use that big box for our Ron Paul signs..." And that was all I needed. Turns out the guy is an independent and we ended up talking to him for 45 minutes. He seemed really excited. Now I have a new recliner and another Ron Paul supporter.

I can't wait for more opportunities.

About Me

My name is Victor, I am a Republican/libertarian and I work for the Seventh-day Adventist Church's regional headquarters in West Virginia as the treasurer.

I promote Ron Paul to everyone I know, mindful of our organization's 501(c)3 status and what I legally can and can't do. I talk to our pastors and most everyone I come in contact with. I attended my first meetup group last night, have been calling Iowans, have bumper stickers on my vehicles, and plan on handing out flyers.

I'm Eric, and I'm a 41 year old psychology professor at Iowa State University. I'm a life member of the Libertarian Party and first voted for Dr. Paul in 1988. Living in Ames (site of the straw poll) it's been really great meeting all of the people from out of state who have come in to help. We really do have some of the nicest people in the world in this campaign!!

Holy crap I hope you're littering the campus with material! :D

Hi, Everyone.

I'm Valerie. I'm a republican who's voted three times for a Bush presidency, 1992, 2000, and 2004. My user name is Adam Smith because I believe in free market economics, not corporate subsidies. I live in central Georgia and have always been involved in politics.

I like investing in stocks and real estate and heard about Ron Paul through one website in particular: globaleconomicanalysis.com. I watched Dr. Paul interview Ben Bernanke about the Plunge Protection Team back in the spring and I was hooked. I've been a Ron Paul fan ever since.

I’m a native Iowan with three children and three ex-husbands. The kids are great!! My first husband was Air Force, my second husband was Army, and my third husband was Palestinian. So I’m at least vaguely familiar with war and policies in the Middle East.

During the first Gulf War, my husband was deployed to Saudi Arabia/Iraq/Kuwait. I was a Department of the Army employee at an APO in Germany. As most of our post was deployed, I handled lots and lots of mail from the gulf . My ex-husband developed Gulf War Syndrome. I, of course, didn't. The government said so. Yet some days I could walk, and other days I didn’t have enough motor control to stand upright. It was at that point I began to research Bush Administration policies.

Since the Patriot Act, I’ve done my best to convince everyone who will listen that Bush’s “course” is leading to a bad place. No one was willing to listen then. Nearly six years later, they’re still pumping up the war machine and infringing upon individual rights. A noticeable number of people have begun to question the justification. Thank goodness. I am a little impatient about the amount of time it’s taking to leave the cave, but every day there are fewer people watching the shadows on the wall. There is hope. The tide has turned in the war for hearts and minds.

Operation Desert Storm, Part MMIII didn’t become personal for me until my oldest son joined the Air Force and was sent to the Persian Gulf. It’s more than a little hard for me to take. I’m the kind of mom that forced my children to read John Locke. Our favorite travel song was “Billy, Don’t be a Hero.” Where did I go wrong??? He’s now doing the same job my natural father did for twenty years. I think it was all those AF/beer truck stories! I did all I could to convince him this isn’t 1963, but well, what’s done is done. All I can do is hope for the best—and try to change the world.

A good doctor from Texas, Dr. William Rea, helped me regain the ability to walk. When I heard another good doctor from Texas speaking of liberty at the first Republican debate, my jaw dropped. What is it with Texas docs? This is great stuff! Liberty was the LAST thing I expected to hear. Heck, I stopped doing dishes and sat down in front of the tv to listen. He seemed to be speaking as a free man instead of an aspiring superman. Wowsers. Where did this guy come from?!?!?!

In June, I went to the Des Moines rally to see for myself. At this point in my life, I’m a skeptic. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. I am completely unwilling to compromise. I vote because it is my duty as a citizen. I refuse to betray my own best interest by voting for evils—even if it is the lesser of two. In the last presidential election, I wrote in “No Confidence.” I pondered the lesser-known candidates, but honestly, I had no confidence in our election process. I voted my conscience. Dr. Paul restores my confidence. :)

Win or lose, I’m in. The die is cast. There’s no turning back.

My names Michael and I Live in Lakeland, Fl (about dead center between Tampa and Orlando) I currently work for a complete and utter @$$hole (yep, you guessed it, self employed) I have degrees in Business Administration, BA in Political Science and almost completed my Masters in Education. Yes, I have three degrees and non of them in the same field. Even funnier, I don't use any of them. I currently run a niche market company selling Prepaid Phone cards to convenience stores specializing in the Hispanic Market.
I was a certified teacher working with ESE kids insides a juvenile detention center and realized just how corrupt the system has become and decided to put my children into private school. In the past I worked on Jeb Bush's governors campaign and also Pam Iorio the mayer of Tampa and a local county commission campaign. I have been a dues paying member of the Libertarian Party but am a registered Republican. I didn't fully know that I was a libertarian (small l) until going to a fairly liberal college (THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH FLORIDA----Da Bulls) and realizing that I was the only person advocating my positions. The saddest moment of my college life was when I realized that Libertarianism/Constitutional ism isn't mainstream common sense as I had though, and Harry Browne didn't win the election.

I'm Laurie from Madison, Tennessee. I'm a freelance artist. I work everyday to spread to word of Ron Paul. He gives me hope for a better tomorrow.

I'm Sean, 39, living in Charlotte NC. I am old enough to remember the Reagan Revolution and a time when I viewed the Republicans as the party of reform... "If only they could end the New Deal and get past all these die hard Democrats".

In 1994, I thought capturing the Congress represented a turning point in history, like 1932. I remember cheering my TV, saying "Yes! America has finally woken up! We're *finally* going to cut spending and the deficit!" But, the freshmen caved to Clinton during the "government shutdown" of 1995, and it was all down hill from there. :(

I have been thoroughly disgusted with the GOP... to see it become co-opted by lobbyists and big government ideas, and riddled with cronyism in less time than it took the Democrats to build their empire of dependency in the first place.

I have been voting less and less every year. But I can honestly say that I saw through W Bush from the beginning. I remember telling people in 2003 that I hoped he had better intelligence than was being shown the public, and that I thought the case for invading Iraq had not been laid. We've had decent leaders like Reagan and Eisenhower that understood peace through strength, and W struck me as too trigger happy and manipulatable.

Honestly, Ron Paul is the only candidate I have had any enthusiasm in supporting since Reagan. He is the only Republican I would trust to keep his promises.

Perry-34 I live in Southeast Alaska. First heard of Ron Paul a few months back. I have since been spreading the word on my little island of 10,000 people. I haven't been standing on street corners with a sign but sofar i have had the chance to inform about twenty people in an in-depth sense about who Ron Paul is and just what it is he is doing. This of course does not include all the people on the web i've spoken with. Will continue to spread the word. :-)
