Insider Advantage 1/22/12: Ron Paul is in SECOND among FL men...

studies show women are more risk adverse overall, financially, and in Florida add that to the spin on social security when Ron is the ONLY one who would protect it. The guys running his ads don't even put 'without cutting social security, medicare or veterans benefits' in when the put millions behind an ad on how he will cut a trillion. Everyone else has been telling us for years you cant balance the budget without doing that, and they assume automatically that big cuts mean cuts there/ ONLY Ron would take it from corporate subsidies and foreign spending, first.

Well, RON NEEDS TO MAKE THIS CLEAR IN THIS WEEK'S DEBATES. Come on, Ron, just say I WILL SAVE MEDICARE/SOCIAL SECURITY BY CUTTING such and such...Give the people the TRUTH. God knows we can't get out of this mess without some DRASTIC CUTS.

Instead of lame stereotypes, is there any actual polls on what topics are most important to women voters? Paul's FP is always brought up as a non-starter for many Republican voters. Is it possible that it's a bigger issue for women than for men?

My statements on the safety net come from repeated studies. The REASONS are debated, are women more tender hearted towards the poor? Feel more vulnerable because single mothers are often one paycheck away from poverty? Are they more often the caregivers for aging parents? Reasons are speculated but the fact has been shown in studies over and over and over.

Why don't women like Ron Paul? I don't get it...

i wouldn't over-generalize like that...
I believe it has more to do with people who get all their news from the tv, than a gender.
we base our decisions on the information we have. if all you do is watch fox news everyday- it makes sense to oppose ron.

I am a woman and a Ron Paul supporter. When I talk to many of my women friends who are 40+ about Ron Paul, the first thing they bring up (which they really seem stuck on) is his age. "He's so old!" they say. I don't like to make generalities, but it seems that because I've heard this over and over from women in that over 40 age bracket, it seems like it could be a common theme. When I tell them how fit he is (walking and riding his bike every day, etc), they are very surprised, but still concerned about his age. I think Ron Paul should consider addressing this concern head on. I'm not sure what the best way is - maybe release his medical records and ask all the other candidates to do the same. Maybe challenge all the other candidates to a bike race! Or maybe, just pull a Jack Palance and drop down on the debate stage and do 10 pushups!! :-)

Well 2nd is as good as 4th for FL delegate wise.

Delegate wise, youre right.. But we need to think about perception.. Since SC, the people PERCEIVE that Newt can beat Obama... its not reality but it counts and gets media coverage.... perception matters..
