And, even if Muslim immigration did outpace assimilation, it's not the apocalypse. Contrary to the hysterical propaganda, we're not going to wake up one day beheaded and crucified. Worst case scenario, you get the kind of ethnic tensions that existed around the turn of the century (rising to the level of minor nuisance in the grand scheme of things) and a turn toward social conservatism (which most of the anti-immigrant folks favor anyway, oddly enough).

Now, Europe is in a different and more dangerous situation (not apocalypse either, but more terrorism), since they already have fairly large Muslim populations who failed to assimilate because of the welfare ghetto strategy the idiot (non-Muslim) leadership pursued. The Brits came here specifically to destroy the indigenous people and take their land. Most immigrants come here searching for a better life- not to murder the inhabitants.

As far as Europe goes- stop killing people in the ME and destroying their countries- then immigration won't be a problem.

I do appreciate your point, though. If one day I wake up and the options are NAZI coup d'etat or further immigration restrictions, the choice is obvious. But in the meantime, there's no need to concede anything to those misfits. It's the time rather to oppose them vigorously or - at the very least - not to cheer them on: to prevent that day from ever coming where they're strong and radicalized enough to stage that coup.

And it would not have been possible if the issue had not been created and allowed to fester for decades, the war on "terrorism" distracted people from all domestic issues since 9/11, that does not mean that immigration did not simmer in the collective sub-conscious in the mean time, just waiting to be manipulated when some faction wanted to use it.

It is everybody's Nation. It was created by immigrants and built by immigrants. My ancestors have been in the US at least as long as the Revolutionary war. We nearly all descend from immigrants. If immigrants are bad, we should all leave. Without immigration, almost none of us would be here and instead living in socialist Europe. If you do not like it here, you are certainly free to live someplace else.

No, the Founders who created America were not "immigrants" they were the decedents of settlers.
