Gary Johnson "I will continue the Ron Paul Revolution" if RP doesn't get the GOP nomination

Gary Johnson will most likely get my vote in the event that Paul doesn't get the nomination, even though he has some questionable historical stances and is pretty weak on the Life issue (though no weaker than any of the 2 party candidates in real terms).

I'd be happy to vote for Gary Johnson if Ron Paul isn't the nominee. He would actually do the country some good (even if not as good as Ron Paul), as opposed to taking it further down the path of ruin.

I think he'd do great in the oval office. He has a history of executive success in both the public and the private sector, and he's able to work across the aisle yet at the same time shut down bad legislation.

Hypothetical question - say Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination, and its Obama vs rep nom vs libertarian party. Can Gary back off the top of the ticket and let it be a Paul/Johnson ticket?

Would he even consider it?

Why do people here dislike Gary Johnson so much? I probably wouldn't vote for him because of his stance on the abortion issue, but other than that, I don't really have any problem with him at all.

I tried to like him when Ron was raising his profile with C4L and I thought Ron might not run this time, but found nothing to be excited about. He seems a fiscal conservative except for humatitarian wars, but I saw no where where he fought for principles on civil liberties or anything I care about, and he seemed cozy with the Kochs whom I consider corporatists. His support of NAFTA also makes me think he is an internationalist, or at least doesn't care about that topic, and I am not, and do. But I had nothing against him. But when Ron ran I felt it was like Santorum telling Romney 'I'm going to run so give me your organization you created for your own reputation and at your own expense, instead of you running', when Gary tried to run on BEING Ron 'only better', and his supporters implying far and wide that Ron was racist including an article implying that being linked on Gary's own web page pretty much turned me against him. I feel like he stuck a knife in Ron and now that he lost expects Ron's supporters to back him. How much did Gary hurt Ron? I don't know, but he sure didn't help.

I fear Gary Johnson is unaware of alot of truths. Ron Paul is truly an extremely rare candidate in these modern times. Even the nicest people are sometimes influenced by money and special interest, Ron Paul is not.

I hope more little baby Pauls are being created by this movement, because if not, American politics is doomed to remain scandalous and occupied by liars.

I just get the feeling that the issues that Gary Johnson is right on, is basically because GJ got lucky. He throws darts in a general libertarian direction. Whereas every position Dr. Paul stands for is grounded on deeply held principles.

Ron Paul didn't self-appoint himself as the leader of the liberty movement. He was chosen by the free market of liberty-minded people.

GJ won't be chosen; no matter how much he thinks he can self-appoint.

GJ continues to be disingenuous and equivocating on his position with respect to Paul's campaign. One minute he is asserting that Dr. Paul cannot win the nomination while deliberately distorting Dr. Paul's policy positions to draw feigned contrast. The next minute he takes the position of the humble and dutiful fallback candidate. GJ cannot be trusted.
