I Was Waiting Till After Super Tuesday To Post This..

+1776, I would only make one change to your letter: "WE ARE IT'S PATRIOTS"

We are it is patriots? "Its" = posessive

Anyway, amazing post there. That gave me a revitalized perspective on what's going on. I first saw the name "Ron Paul" in Freedom to Fascism. That was the summer of '06. I thought to myself, "Damn, this guy needs to run for president." It wasn't until late April/early May of last year when I discovered that he was running.

I don't even remember what I was doing. I was at school, on the computer, messing around until class started. I somehow ended up on MSN's elections page. I went on there to see if Hillary was running, because that's who I assumed would be the next annoited leader of the global elite. I found here, to no surprise. But then I looked on the Republican side, and was scrolling along. I found the name "Ron Paul" and a sudden jolt went through my entire body. It was a surreal feeling, because it immediately brought me back to that moment in '06 when I thought it would be a dream if RP ran for president.

He had a 9% approval rating on the MSNBC pre-debate poll thing. I told my dad about it that night, and he didn't seem to interested. The next night, after a debate I didn't get to watch or even knew took place, I went back to the site and found that Ron Paul's rating went from 9% to 42%. I almost started doing cartwheels in the library.

I told my dad about it that night, and he seemed excited. (We're on the same wavelength, politically.)

My mom, who previously didn't care much for politics or my "conspiracy theories," started to hear me out slowly but surely. And one afternoon I gave her an hour long dissertation on Ron Paul, 9/11, the global elite, the Fed, and how it all ties into the mess we see in today's world. That discussion won her overly completely and utterly. She ended up joining our meetup group here in San Diego, and has been a very active participant.

I asked her the other day if this election feels different to her. She said "in all her years" she's never felt like this about a political candidate or an election.

As for me, being relatively young, I would often times step back and wonder if I was getting a bit too nostalgiac about Ron Paul and everything that's been going on. But it turns out that isn't the case. What's happening today is very rare, unique, and special. I'm glad to be a part of it, and I will be here until the end, fighting for freedom and liberty.

QFT. I've been there too, and have come to the same conclusion that you have. I'm only in college, but I'm already planning a lifelong fight for freedom. I'm so glad Ron Paul ran for President. He opened the eyes of millions.

The fact that this movement has gotten soo many young people involved into politics is an incredible feat on its own. We are part of something that will be written in history, not the nightly news.

WOW.. Just checked back on my thread.. THANK YOU ALL...

Some of you that are new to the Freedom message must understand HOW SPECIAL a time you find yourself in.

I have spent the last 17 years(1992 is when i joined the LP) JUST WAITING for a time like this to appear. I had given up all hope to be honest. I am a member of a lot of online communities that were preaching self reliance and how not to get involved anymore. I was in the process of dropping out.

YOU ALL have given me so much hope for the future of this country. And I'm not that old, I'm only 40 years old. We have come SO FAR in such a short amount of time. You think you're depressed or disheartened, try waiting 17 years LOL...

This is another thing you'll have to trust me on!! YOU WILL NEVER and I mean EVER feel this way again about politics or our country again, if you let this slip away. You will regret it for the rest of your days.

This term has been overused at naseaum today. But the fight is just getting started my friends. And I don't mean that as a bunch of bravado. The light has been turned on inside the heads of hundreds of thousands, if not possibly millions of people.

Only time can help us now and unfourtunatly for those of us(me included) who are ADD and want it all NOW, it can't be rushed... Give these seeds time to grow and mature. TRUST ME!!

Robert

Thank you for this post, and I think it came at a very important time. Giving up on Ron Paul, or more importantly, his message, for myself is impossible. It is too loud and too true to ignore.

I never heard about Ron until Sept. of '07. Guess they can't keep it quiet forever. MORE!!!!! :)

I think that has been one of the driving forces that's kept me going. I've always been impressed by those that told me they supported Barry Goldwater and now we have our own Goldwater (but better) for our generation. We'll be the ones telling those stories someday. But it's not over yet. Despite all the difficulties, I do think a 3rd party campaign is viable if we're going up against Hillary-McCain. The dynamic of a 3rd party run will do much to reinvigorate us all.
