I have been in the Revolution since before it started. I was sending Emails and letters to Dr Paul as far back as 2004. I sent emails to his local newspaper imploring the citizens of that community to give him up for the greater good and convince him to run for president(though at the time I thought Libertarian Party).

I can vividly remember the day I found out he had thrown his hat in the ring(it was actually leaked to the Libertarian community early) and I literally yelled "RIGHT ON!!" right in the middle of my office. I had to explain to the 3 people in the room why I had gone insane for a second.

NONE OF THEM HAD HEARD THE NAME RON PAUL! At the begining I had to mail my first check into the Exploratory commitee. The website was just a single HTML page that was linked from his congressional page.

I remember the very first Youtube that came out showed him at a house party in New Hampshire AND A WHOPPING TOTAL of 50 or so people were there.. And I was excited by this. I remember the early videos showing him driving HIMSELF around to different places.

We polled exactly ZERO POINT ZERO in national recognition and support in January of 2007. MY ONE AND ONLY point in being a part of the Ron Paul run was to see him make it TO JUST ONE nationally televised debate, JUST ONE.. That is how reserved my hopes were for this campaign. I just wanted the chance for OUR VIEWS to be seen by a wider audience than just LewRockwell.com and the Mises.org websites.

I KNEW that if he caught fire he could unite an unlikely mix of Social Libertarian, Social Conservative, Anti-War advocate, Pro-Drug Legalization, Pro-Life, Pro-Home Schooling, etc ,etc coalition, the likes that has never been seen in modern politics. But I was trying to be cautious and not get my hopes up.

ONE NATIONAL DEBATE was all I wanted. Well we got that and a whole lot more. I remember the "Guiliani Incident" in the Fox debate and how that was the CATALYST that started everything rolling. I remember vividly pumping my fist in delight after I read the 2nd Quarter number and we made a whopping 2.4 million dollars and the utter triumph when we topped 5 million in the 3rd quarter.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME.. 6.4 million in one FUCKING DAY???!!??? 24 million in the 4th quarter??

For all of you that want to hang your head in shame. DON'T... You are a part of History here my friends. What started off as a modest attempt to shine a little light on a long ignored philisophic view point has snow balled into the New American Revolution. You can stand proud and know YOU WERE IT'S PATRIOTS.

Sure we all remember John Hancock and Thomas Jefferson and Madison and Franklin. But what about the hundreds of thousands of unsung patriots that made those men famous?? Were they any less important.

If we keep this movement alive, you will have to trust me on this, but WE WILL WRITE HISTORY!!

Robert

agree 100%. I'm not a 'blog' type guy, but i spent 1.5 hrs the other night writing a blog with this same sentiment. about how Ron has spent 30 yrs "yelling into the darkness" essentially, and over the last 12 months his voice has now been joined by hundreds of thousands of other voices. How, people i would never have even met, let alone talked to, are now good friends of mine and they will continue to be so (meetup group). unfortunately, when i went to post it, my puter lost connection and it was erased. :(

the only way that we have to lose, is if we dont continue to spread the message.

That's inspiring, keep on trucking. I know I'll be running for office in a few years on this platform.

Bump for everyone to see! GREAT post and I can remember thinking most of the same things you describe. We have come farther faster than I ever dreamed possible, especially to have so much actively working against us (the media, voter apathy, voter ignorance, etc.). Just to have many of these issues brought into the light of day has been well worth the battles.

I hear ya brother!!! I've been in the patriot/RP movement for 25 years and we have indeed more than exceeded my wildest expectations. The fight continues, as it always has and for now it's a battle for the hearts and minds of those that don't realize the importance and the dire need of the message and we need to educate all that will listen and open their eyes to the truth in this message of freedom. There well might come a day though when words alone can't defend our Constitution and all the ideals that are embodied within it and to that end I pledge my sacred honor.

Thank you for making that first debate a reality, it is where I first learned of Ron Paul.

Your post about over achieving is correct. The grassroots would be proud of the accomplishments.

Thank you to ALL of you.

*******************************************************

However, the campaign squandered and fumbled a golden handoff by keeping incompetent people in charge. The campaign mesed up by not hiring the re grassroots supporters. Ultimately, Ron Paul himself must be held accountable for these situations and the Romney and McCain supporters I know say it's proof that Ron Paul is not capable of managing people as a lifelong congressman.

I do not have an answer to this assertion by them.

+1776, I would only make one change to your letter: "WE ARE IT'S PATRIOTS"

We stand together from this day foreward no matter the outcome of anything.

The Revolution is here and whether Ron Paul wins the Presidency or not, the movement is going forward.

There are many people who have waited a long time to see such a movement come about. And we don't need a majority to make a difference. All we need is a tireless minority who are committed to changing things for the better.

We didn't get into this mess overnight and one election isn't going to fix it. Keep fighting, there are many battles fought that determine the victor of any war.

I agree

That's inspiring, keep on trucking. I know I'll be running for office in a few years on this platform.

I am also considering a run for office :) This revolution has already changed the world. Nothing they can do can put us back to shleep.

bump , i agree . but i also think the admin/mods need to do something about the forum . i dont think being ban happy is a good thing and have always been against it , but the anarchy here is not working either ..

Thanks for the inspiration. I wish everyone in the revolution could see the same as you.

Onward!:)
