I propose a day of prayer for Our elected officials!

I don't see any perks to worshiping satan. What perks do they get?

Power, wealth, fame, position, Presidency, Monarchy ect ect.

Satan showed Jesus all the Kingdoms of the world and said he would give them to Jesus if Jesus worshiped him.

Satan is the god of this present world system or Age. He has a lot of control over the "goings on".

Thing is, Satan has told those that worship him that he's going to overthrow Who the Bible describes as The Almighty, or The Most High God.

So they think that they will rule Creation as gods along with Satan.

Satan lied to them about that.

And how are they fake? They dont "play", they exercise satanism.

edit: The satanists you refer to as people who believe/worship Satan, belongs under the category "Theistic Satanism".

Right.. I'm talking about Theistic Satanists - the ones who interact with spirits.

You brought up the other type. I don't waste time with them. I only deal with people who know Satan.

Okey dokey. Just dont generalize satanists.

Atheism is not a belief system, its a response to the claim that there are supernatural gods. You claim there is a God, all im saying is, "I dont believe your claim. It has not met its burden of proof"

We wouldnt need to call ourselves Atheists if there wernt such a wide belief in God.

Just as I dont need to call myself a muggle, because there is not a large section of society that believe themselves to be wizards.

Put it like this; Is the lack of belief in Big Foot just another system of believing in Big Foot?

It's simply a belief.. e.g. one person doesn't believe bigfoot exists, the other does believe it. They have opposing beliefs.

You contradict yourself and prove my point.

"Atheism is not a belief system" - "all im saying is, "I dont believe your claim"

See.. you believe God doesn't exist.

What's the problem?

Do you want to promote your belief as if it isn't one
so the same standards that you want to apply to other beliefs don't apply to you? Yes, you do.

Ain't gonna work.

Wrong

Im not the one defining a god and then claiming it doesnt exist. Im simply responding to your claim of the existence of God. You say there is a God, Im saying your claim does not meet its burden of proof.

You see, your trying to say, "Your lack of belief is just another set of religious beliefs, so HA HA we are both equally stupid"

No.

Doesnt work that way.

Nothing is guaranteed with Satan - he tends to lie a lot. Basically, he'll tell you anything you want to hear.

But, I suppose you'd have to see what kind of deal you can work out with him and take your chances.

I turned my back on him from the get-go, so, I never got into specifics.

Do Christians know with absolute certainty that there is a god? Wouldn't that require proof? And if there is proof that god exists, well then that just proves that he doesn't. God requires faith. For by grace are ye saved through faith... ...the substance of things NOT seen.

What is the point of faith if you have proof? You wouldn't need faith.

Christians shouldn't feel like they have to prove anything to anyone. In fact, they should just be honest with people and tell the truth when asked.

If an atheists/agnostic/non believer in god (or whatever) insists on proof before they believe, well that's up to them.

A Christian's job isn't to prove it but to live it. Christians who really understand the teachings of Christ know that having proof of god isn't the important thing. It's the faith that counts.

I'm a non believer in god, but when is that date again? :)

Maybe he told you that his name was Jesus.

No, you're saying you believe one way, and I believe another.

Your claim doesn't meet the it's burden of proof either.

~~~~~~~~~~
Thing is, I don't believe, I know.
I'm not personally saying I believe, I'm saying I know.
In general society though, the differing opinions are referred to as "beliefs".
And frankly, I don't care if you believe anything or not now, because I know eventually you'll know as well.
So, how about not hijacking a thread that you don't plan on taking part in? Show some class.
Has anyone come up with a day we can coordinate on?
Maybe we could if people who don't want to participate wouldn't stick their nose where it doesn't belong.
How much time would it take to spread the word? About a month?
August 23rd is a Saturday, about a month away, and about a week before Rally for the Republic. Might be a good time.
No, the difference is quite obvious.
The difference? You mean "Satan" wouldn't try to convince you to follow him, maybe even write a nice little book to go along with the plan, to trick you into close mindedness and irrational fear?
Or do you mean to use your faith to kill thousands and millions of people across generation and generation.
In my opinion, the only decent character in all of the bible was Lucifer. What if you've been tricked into worshiping the wrong god?
I don't see a big difference, especially using your codex. The popular culture of the bible is just that, culture... if you go by the bible alone, Lucifer is harmless compared to the wrath and destruction done in the name of god.
In fact Jesus claims in the Bible that he's Lucifer.
Rev 22:16 (NIV) "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star."
Morning Star is a synonym for Lucifer.
absolute certainty
Oh, stop it.
Get over the notion of absolute certainty. Absolute certainty is a diversion. You cant know ANYTHING with absolute certainty.
We are talking about practical useful knowledge. Under those terms, there is no justification for believing in the claims about the supernatural.
Is the lack of belief in superstition just another superstition?
The Morning Star is the sun. You know, that big bright star that rises in the morning and gives light to our planet. This is what it's all about. When will the world and all the bible bashers admit the obvious?
I realise you aren't one yourself. I, like you, are merely pointing out the idiocy of it all.
