People over at PopularLiberty are going all in on the September 7th MoneyBomb, we tried to quell the division between those who want the 7th and those who want the 17th. I understand the argument for both dates, I also support the decision to donate on either date. That being said, there are some here at RPF that voted for the September 7th MoneyBomb and I want you know that we are moving forward with this date. We have decided that, due to the unresolved division, we must go all in on the 7th. I am drawn to, and I am advocating for that date, for many reasons, most importantly is that it comes before the next debate. I'm am sure we have all come across the endless 'Rand's failing campaign' headlines, we must have a response to this. The most direct way to counter this argument is to flood Rand's campaign with donations. Again, I respect the decisions of the individual, but I am trying to persuade each of you to give September 7th another look. I feel there is the potential for great benefit if we can pull together and make this a dramatic MoneyBomb. Please weigh to the potential benefits for each date, as they both have real benefits. The 7th makes more sense, I think a lot of the votes here were uninformed. I don't think enough emphasis was put on the fact that the debate occurs BEFORE THE 17TH in the thread that had the poll.

First is the 7th of September/ Labor Day weekend before the Reagan Library debate and before the Iran deal gets voted on in the Senate.

Then after the Reagan/CNN debate on the night of the 16th, there is another moneybomb on September 17 - all is good for 3rd quarter total, right ?

Like herding cats, especially the DP crowd. Competition breeds efficiency this is what we believe in. We will have a money bomb competition between the 7th, 17th and fuck it, the 22nd. It can only benefit Rand especially if we can reignite grassroots enthusiasm and energy like the good old days of RPF and DP. With the Kentucky caucus win, it is time for the grass roots to step up and give this campaign the creative spontaneous grass roots energy it needs to win. With the recent Ron Paul endorsement I think the campaign is sending out the bat signal for us grassroots to take on this challenge if we are ready. Did you hear Rand is talking about auditing the fed again? Let's do this for old times sake folks. Whoever the winner is will most likely take a lead on moneybombs going forward. I'm betting on the down to business nature of RPF and the 17th being a prime target for primary election interest as we settle into the fall with the debate bringing new eyes. Let's do it.

What was the point of having one poll and inviting everyone from all the different sites to vote in it, and then having people insist on going against it back to the 7th? In the big picture, I guarantee you that the date of the moneybomb won't make one lick of difference. What does make a difference is the organizational capability of the grassroots.

Well this is a mess. I read your post at PopularLiberty where you said that poll will decide what date it will be.

In that poll voted people from both sites. In both sites there were people who wanted different dates. There was no consensus on one site and there was no one site vs another attitude. My main and only concern was at the time that there is simply not enough time to recruit people, make a high quality web page, widgets, avatars, ticker, apps, gifs, videos, articles, contact Rand friendly sites, promote it and million other things that go into successful money-bomb. I saw money-bomb fail because of lack of time. Anything less than a month is too little time. Now after 8 days that are essentially wasted there is even less time to organize money-bomb on 7th. I am no discouraging you and I hope that you will prove me wrong. I just listed reasons why I am personally working on and promoting September 17th money-bomb.


If I may ask how far gone are you in working on your moneybomb? (web page, pictures, widgets, avatars, apps promotion etc.) I couldnt find any thread where you post progress.

I definitely do not want there to be hard feelings, or make this in to some kind of competition. I see that you guys are committed to the 7th and wish you luck.

But like they said, at this point it would be tough for us to stop and move the date. We've put a lot of work in to graphics, a web site, social media and everything else geared towards a "Constitution Day" theme. The creation of everything that goes behind a major successful moneybomb takes a lot longer than someone might think from the outside.

The reason we ultimately chose the 17th was because I thought we had a vote and came to a consensus. Like Crashland said, the date itself was less important than coming together on one. I personally voted for the 17th, but would have put in just as much work for the 7th if it had been chosen.

Consider this article about the KY caucus:

The party's executive committee approved a proposal on Saturday to hold a presidential caucus on March 5. The plan would let Paul run for president and re-election to his Senate seat at the same time without violating state law that bans candidates from appearing on the ballot twice in the same election.

But the caucus could cost as much as $500,000, and the Republican Party has less than $170,000 in cash on hand according to its latest disclosure report. In a letter to party officials earlier this week, Paul claimed to have transferred $250,000 to the Republican Party to cover the cost of the caucus. But that turned out not to be true, angering some Republicans and jeopardizing Paul's support.

Saturday, after a more than four hour meeting that began with a prayer to God for wisdom and "that your will be done here today," Republicans agreed to approve the caucus on one condition: The state party had to have $250,000 in its bank account by Sept. 18 specifically reserved for caucus expenses. If the money is not there by the deadline, the caucus would be canceled and Kentucky would have its regularly scheduled primary.

Paul told reporters after the vote he was relieved, adding that getting the required two-thirds majority to approve the caucus was not easy.

"I think it is about something above and beyond one person. It really is about trying to grow the party and I'm thoroughly convinced that were I not in this race that this is just good for the Republican party," he said.

Paul said his most preferred method of raising the money would be to direct people that have already donated the maximum amount to his presidential campaign to donate to the state Republican party. But he said he would do whatever it takes to make it work.

How about the Sep 7 moneybomb be directed towards the caucus expense with any overflow going to the Senate campaign, while the 17th moneybomb be for the presidential campaign? It would be an excellent way to counter articles like this that contribute to the "Rand buys an election" meme, making it clear that the money comes from small donors.
