I have been canvassing my precinct

GREAT JOB! I used to live in Kansas City before moving to San Francisco. I have convinced my elderly parents living in Great Bend, KS to go support Ron Paul at their caucus. What you are doing is the right approach. It takes the personal touch. My parents stated that Ron Paul is the only candidate running ads in western Kansas. Between that and me sending them some You Tube videos this past month i have converted them from apathetic to VOTING. Curiousity question. I thought the far right "Huckabee types" had taken over control of the KS GOP; and they got their asses handed to them by the Democrats; Dem Governor in a red state etc.; no Huckabee supporters? I am hoping for a Ron Paul surprise but i thought "upchuckabee" or "tax hike mike" would be our main competition there? P.S., if you remember who the "pretty boy Romney" supporters were, it may be worth your time another visit now that he has thrown in the towel. P.S. I have a nephew in the Navy; and the piece of information that finally swayed my parents to vote for Paul was the fact that Ron Paul has recieved more campaign contributions than all of the other Republican candidates COMBINED from military personnel. GO KANSAS! GO RON PAUL!

I have lived here in the KC area for 12 years and 2 in Lawrence. I really have not figured out Kansas politics, but I can say that the Huckabee types have not taken over politics. KS elected a Dem governor, yet her veto was over-ruled twice on concealed carry. Voters really seem to vote for issues rather than party lines. Yes, there are some very vocal Huckabee types but they are far from the majority. I think the only thing that may keep people from voting for Ron is the war issue. People are polarized over long-term Islamic terrorism. I can see their concern but I subscribe to Ron's doctrine that our interventionist middle eastern policy has brought it about. I remember lot's bombings, kidnappings, and hi-jackings from the 70's through the 90's yet "Jihad" was never mentioned. I think now it is more of a rallying cry for the Islamists to gain support. I guess people don't share my beliefs hence they talk about "holding their nose and voting for McCain".

I wanted to get out and canvass this week in my town of 1300, but sickness has swept through our household. I suspect I would find quite a bit of apathy, particularly now that people are being told by the media that the nomination is going to McCain.

But we're going to caucus on Saturday and hope for the best.

If they try to tell you that McCain has it locked up, you have two ways to respond:

1. The delegate math. McCain doesn't have it locked up. He still has to win several more states, and with Romney out of the race, there's no guarantee he will.

2. If it's going to be McCain anyway, then you don't have to worry about wasting your vote trying to impact the race -- just vote for the candidate you like the most: Ron Paul.

please go canvass...if anything you get to meet some of your neighbors and it's a learning experience...
Say you've been inspired and wanted to make sure that they have heard of Dr. Paul... our country loves passionate people...
