I think many of you miss the point about porn.

When you look at the industry, you'll find a handful of STARS that seem to be very happy. Unless they have been out of the industry, have no plans to go back into it, and then you discover the sordid details and reality of an industry that preys on shallow people with low self esteem and takes advantage of them for as long as it can.

Is the 'freedom' of the individual not more important then your freedom to view porn? Is your concern simply with your rights, and say nothing of your responsibilities?

there is mythology that people only enter into pornography due to being conned into it... in reality the producers have a very difficult time shielding themselves from the excessive number of women lining up to take part in their lucrative industry.

you can't break into the porn biz unless you are REALLY into doing it. its not easy to just slip into. research feminism in porn to see the real deal on the industry. it is not an industry of abuse on any other level than any other entertainment industry. entertainment as a whole takes advantage of a whole in the heart of the people who take part in it, who need lots of attention to feel good. porn is just the exhibitionist version of that. sure theres drug abuse, and other bad stuff going on, but look at the non-pornographic film industry, music industry, etc. its just the same.

Forget the industry. The porn industry is losing money left and right. They're going down. With the internet any free human can put pictures of themselves up and nobody is taking advantage of them. Wake up...we're not living in the 1980's.

i provided two other examples, music, and non pornographic film. both of those industries

-take the need for the performer to be exposed to a massive audience in order to feel whole, uses it for profit
-create an image and marketing campaign that exploits their personal life in a way which can become destructive
-has a major problem of drug abuse and suicide among its stable of performers
-disproportionately pays the staff and industry compared to the performers themselves, often to the extreme of fooling the performers into doing all of the work and actually getting paid nothing, while they profit immensely
-often makes a lot of its startup money off of taking advantage of the wanna-bee's, who have stars in their eyes.

all of the pitfalls of the pornographic film industry exist in equal proportion in the non pornographic film industry and the music industry. the only difference is the pornographic film industry pays the performers better, in exchange for a little bit more social taboo(depending on the type of music and movies)

A person has an incredibly shallow world-view if their world view can't influence their thinking about reality.
