I am POed. Jeremiah Black TV Ads in iowa dying for lack of funding?

Hey everyone,

Great job! It looks like between the Google account and chipin money you just made it to 15k!!!!

I will call the buyer tomorrow and work with Brandon to make the best plan, Brandon then can post up the final buy when it comes in so you can tell our friends there to let others know.

Make sure to shift people to NH, MI, SC and NV as soon as possible.

Remember NH is very expensive! Lets get 15k there very quickly

We need to fund these as early as possible given inventories are going to be much tougher to grab now.

Hi, this is Jeremiah Black who made these ads. First of all, thanks to everyone for donating! I have no experience asking for money, and I'm not terribly comfortable with it. So, I apologize for keeping a low profile, and not coming on the boards very much. I wrote and directed these commercials, but the website, the PAC, the states, the timeslots, the airtime costs, and all that stuff is seperate from me. In short, I'm the creative guy who makes product. The guy who handles the airtime and all that end is Tyler Sims. And the PAC that's collecting the chips-in at www.opnh.org and paying the tv stations to run the ads is run by a guy named Brandon... um, I forget his last name. Anyway, Tyler posts on here a lot and answers most of the questions. I just hang out in my office and make commercials. I'm the creative side. Tyler actually runs things.

So, I apologize for not coming on the boards a lot and giving fund raising speeches and thank yous. It's something I should've done, but not something I'm really good at or comfortable with. I'm just a TV director, and so I feel most comfortable simply holding a camera, talking with actors, and just doing that.

However, soon we will be setting up a website devoted solely to my ads. We are filming more after the new year, and hope to have around a dozen or so in total. And, as I said, there will be a website setup in conjunction with Trevor's legal help, where the grassroots can chip in to have the ads shown in whatever city they choose. It will work like the blimp, and not be subject to FEC laws. Except you get to chose where you want the ads to be shown- region by region, state by state. With the blimp, you paid for "airtime". With the commercials people will pay for "viewership head counts". The more money raised, the more it will show in that particular region.

This will be a good arrangement, as I will be able to work just making commercials, Tyler can handle the business, and the grassroots can be empowered to pick a state and city, a time slot, donate to it, and get the specific ad or ads they want, shown at the time they want, in the city thay want. The PAC that's currently showing the ads, won't be involved.

Tyler will run that, as well, and it will be separate from the PAC the ads are currently associated with. So, it looks like a good deal for everyone.

thanks again.

have asked if they wanted the ads instead of selling them to the pacs

Why can't HQ just by the damn ads for themselves?? 50k is peanuts to them...

AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE??

We asked iowa Drew Ivers--he said they had professional ads so didnt need them and the costs were expensive.

National never gave us an answer on the production work which is done by myself and Jeremiah to date on funding and doing it all to date.

We are looking at new options to make this a better model.

Thank you very much for your hard work! Don't be shy about asking for help! Let us know, we can run with the rest :) We just need to know when we're needed!

Once again, I'm glad this is able to go forward, and thanks for your help! Now let's save the blimp today too!

Whoever thought this up is brilliant! Meetups will be able to pool money together to do local ad buys. If it works, this model changes everything.

Don't stop -- We still have to fund the TV ads for the other early primary states

Please, let's not wait until we're in total crisis mode. Plus, the sooner we get the money, the sooner the ads can start being aired.

Apparently they've lost ability to play the 60 second ad but are pushing ahead to get some of the others on in E. Iowa. Jblack himself makes some comments on the thread.

This is great, folks. I feel like I spent my money and time effectively tonight and did my good deed for the day...with your help!

What are you talking about? Where does he say that we've lost the ability to show the 60 second ad? It's the one we really need to be showing the most.

Are we all doing an end run around the FEC? Well thats pretty ballsy.

Anyways I hope we ain't all withing for the general election to chip-in :)

If everyone had a myspace account, we'd be able to spread the word about the need for money and we'd reach a lot more people a lot faster.

Before this goes any further, it might be a good idea to find out if Jeremiah Black and Don Black are somehow related.

If they are, this could come back to bite us in the a$$.

Just because they share the same last name!!!!

You've got to be kidding! Do you know how many people with the last name, Black, there are in this country?

Move on.

Does anyone know? Do those chip-in totals update live or do they have to be updated on the backend?

I think these ads rock - especially number 4 - and I'm throwing in my $50 to get them on the air here in NH.

And from the ground here in NH, I can say that it's not a minute too soon. The airwaves are getting pounded with ads from every candidate EXCEPT Ron Paul. Every single commercial break is chock full of ads for candidates, back to back to back. If I have to look at Huck's stupid grin in front of that bookshelf-cross thing one more time I'm going to barf.

Please, Jeremiah, Tyler, and Brandon, PLEASE make the ad buy here ASAP. The inventory has got to be nearly nonexistent at this point, and one inventory is gone all the money in the world won't get the ads on the air.

Everybody, please give all that you can. This is an excellent and very effective way to boost our numbers in NH.

Thanks!
