I am officially a resister now...

Started a job with a new company recently. It's a small company but they do offer to pay for my insurance; but not for my family.
At first, I set out looking at the exchange but learned my premiums (for essentially no coverage at all) was $12,800 per year. Pretty steep, as I don't think we've ever spent $12k on healthcare in a year ever.
Then, of course, thinking about how opposed I am to the whole idea of forced insurance buy-ins and paying for coverage to which I am morally opposed, I told my employer "Thanks, but no thanks."
We are now depositing that money safely away for healthcare expenses and I will not be buying coverage through the exchange.
I am a resister.

If enough individuals just said "I. Will. Not. Comply." then politicians could debate until they are blue in the face and it would not matter. Welcome to the club. Though, honestly, I'm not sure there will be enough of us to make a difference.

Agreed. This ponzi scheme only works if we all buy coverage that complies.
If you want this law to go away, your only means of making that happen is to drop your insurance. That includes employer supplied coverage! It's time to walk the walk people!
Resist or shut up!

I dropped mine may before last in preperation for this.I was the only one on mine. All of my children are grown and the wife has her own, my employer would not cover her unless she had none.

Thats a start. Now have your wife cancel hers, too.

If she has obamacare compliant coverage through her employer, she is complying with the mandate and is part of the problem.

That is a valid point , not really even sure though if hers will be a " federally approved" plan.

I think there we be a huge number of people not complying... just look at how many people don't have the money to comply and purchase this mandated product.

It will be something to see. That's for sure. Of course the government will still get a cut come tax refund time from those individuals.

You may want to get a high deductible policy if they are still available though. I used to have one but it was pretty much the same price as a full coverage policy so I just got that one instead. An accident can be very expensive and many cases you may not be covered by an auto policy or similar.

Already checked. They're gone. The providers here now only sell obamacare compliant plans, which include abortifacient coverage, which I will not pay for.
I'm on my own. Doesn't bother me much. Our founding fathers risked far more than I for freedom and liberty.

Resist or be silent!

I have never had healthcare coverage and i am considering getting it before it becomes mandatory thru tax penalty next year.I make 30k a year. For a healthy single male in his late 30's would i spend more money paying the penalty or buying insurance.
