"Rights come from God... not from the state."

I know, I know. He's just pandering. But he seems like a smart guy, and this is one of the most intelligent things I've ever heard anyone beside Ron Paul say in the last two elections.

A broken clock is correct twice a day. I think though Santorum is a 24 hour clock so he is only right once a day, as a matter of fact, he might even be a leap year clock if you get my point.

Santorum says a lot of things I agree with, especially on social issues. Too bad his solution for everything is more government. He may say "Rights come from God, not the state", but he really means "Rights come from God, not from the state, except those the state doesn't think you should have"

I think he believes everything he says, panders a little, and is wrong on a lot.

He is too anti-gay, anti-Muslim, pro-war for me.

I'll stick with Ron.

he may have said the constitution in the framework to freedom or liberty - I'm paraphrasing - but his record on liberties. Social, and second ammendement are terrible. he's pandering

I give him credit on voting against both Tarp and the GM bailout but he has a lot of deal breakers for me.

That is not true. He was out of the Senate at that time. So he just says he did not support them because it is easy to say. He probably would of voted for TARP.

By the way, does anyone know why Santorum is still in the race? He knows he can't win the GOP nomination let alone beat Obama. Besides there is already a neocon, newt, on the top.

The United States is a gay friendly country. He doesn't have a chance in hell.

Maybe the establishment is trying to keep him in the race so he can compete with Ron Paul

I'm not implying I would ever vote for the guy. It's just that he brought up an issue which is central to the beliefs of libertarian Christians and said something that is central to the foundation of a belief in liberty, which is that rights are not granted by the government. They are not granted by men. They can only be granted by God. I never would have been a fan of Rick because I know what he really stands for, but the comment I made was really tongue in cheek.

I think Santorum is in the closet and is actually gay himself. He's a self-hater.

Of course you do. That's the de facto response to anyone who opposes gay marriage in any way, whether it be through government or just personally speaking your opinion. If you oppose the gay agenda, you must be gay yourself! Who'da thunk it?

Give it a rest...
