How do we make RON PAUL Obama's TREASURY SECRETARY???

Obama said he wants to hear from Americans. He wants to hear from people he disagrees with. If you don't think he's going to listen to you, fine, but if you don't say anything then you can't fucking whine when he doesn't do what you want.

This will be an interesting four years when Ron Paul will have the opportunity to get a lot of his legislation passed...maybe not the economic ones so much, but hemp, medical marijuana, civil liberties restoration.. these are all things that Obama says he agrees with, and most Democrats say they agree with. If Ron Paul puts forth the legislation and they don't go along with it, then they can be shown to be the traders that they are, just like Republicans were shown to be traders to economic conservatism over the last few administrations. The other option is we can have some civil liberties restored. Both of those options sound better than sitting in an internet forum whining about Obama's handlers and not doing anything.

You are absolutely correct - he may feign support for 'ending war', but Obama's real concern is not allowing the fighting to be as poorly managed as Iraq.

Here's a hint: The entire government system is poorly managed.

I have a feeling we're getting FDR's social plan mixed with Lyndon Johnson's Vietnam Plan.

In other words: don't put faith in the solvency of your money.

Ron Paul started out his speech at the press conference regarding third parties by quoting Carroll Quigley from his book "Tragedy and Hope":

"The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies, one, perhaps, of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to the doctrinaire and academic thinkers. Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can "throw the rascals out" at any election without leading to any profound or extreme shifts in policy. " [Pg. 1247-1248.]

RP also pointed out that Bill Clinton named Carroll Quigley as a major influence (in his acceptance speech for the Democratic Nomination in 1992):

"As a teenager, I heard John Kennedy’s summons to citizenship. And then, as a student at Georgetown, I heard that call clarified by a professor named Carroll Quigley, who said to us that America was the greatest Nation in history because our people had always believed in two things–that tomorrow can be better than today and that every one of us has a personal moral responsibility to make it so."

Two days ago, the American people threw the rascals out, but recent history shows us that Carroll Quigley's views on the US parties are reality. One should not expect a significant change in policy. Ron Paul as a cabinet member would represent a significant change in policy, so he has a chance in hell of becoming one.

If you look back decades, cabinet members for ALL administrations are predominantly members of the Council on Foreign relations, which of course appears to the brain child organization of much policy, including NAFTA, CAFTA, GATT, NAU, what-have-you.

personally, i think it's worth the effort. of course, RP would bitch and grumble against monetizing the debt, etc. but can anyone here think of a better (feasible) solution to getting the economy back on (somewhat) stable footing?

after the reign of King Henry [Paulson], who would you trust to unwind this current clusterf#ck more than RP?

i'm sure "no one" is everyone's answer here, so why not drop an email to Obama's handlers? to criticize this effort concept as if it were put forth by a crackhead is classless. even though we all know that the chances are only slightly better than a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest - why give up.

Just a random thought on how "we" can MAKE Barack select Ron. ( at gunpoint )

A) Ron couldn't make it through the Congressional advise and consent process.

B) When he did something RON-like, Barack would just fire and replace him.
