It's a double-edged sword. If you've ever studied Howard Brody's "The Social Power of Expert Healers." It talks about how "upper-class" individuals (or physicians) are easily looked up to, in regards to social status. It talks about social power that is unrecognizable, is hard to channel into responsible uses. It talks that each class of people has its own specific adult agenda. The upper-classes agenda reflects that of a "helpful stance comprised of scientific knowledge." So it makes sense for them not to view themselves as manipulative.
In terms of RonPaul winning the presidency, I wish he would support Sarah Palin--just to help secure more votes for the presidency.
But our movement isn't just about votes (even if we're justified/correct), our message is one of an educational/philosophical (wise) approach. To help teach the majority about principle, ethics, and politics. We want the masses to understand the message, not secure their votes in a manipulative way.
