This is why Iran and Pakistan are being pressured now
Israeli ministers have reportedly approved a plan for the
full takeover of the Gaza Strip, according to media reports citing unnamed officials.
The proposal to seize and occupy the territory for an unspecified period was
approved in a vote held by Israel's security Cabinet early Monday, the Associated Press reported.
The Israeli military has
mobilized tens of thousands of reservists in preparation. The officials said the plan is designed to help achieve Israel's war aims of defeating the Palestinian militant group Hamas and securing the release of hostages held in Gaza.
Implementation of the plan is expected to
begin only after President Donald Trump's visit to the region next week.
