You must not have been paying attention to republican media in general. It's got nothing to do with Mormonism or Beck for that matter. All over Fox news and other so called "conservative" outlets has been the meme that Romney lost because either people want more "government stuff" or that people want more social liberalism. None of these yahoos have pushed the idea that maybe...just maybe young people that might vote republican don't like the wars, don't the the attack on civil liberties, and didn't buy into the myth that Mitt Romney was a fiscal conservative. But hey, prove me wrong. Post where Glenn Beck said "We're losing young voters because of our foreign policy." Then we can talk about whether my logic is poor or not.

Wrong. If Beck was really willing to do anything to after young Republicans the last thing he would do is support gay marriage or become a Mormon. Both of these are bad career moves on his part given the demographic he caters to.

That would lead me to reason that he believes what he says.

There is very little that I agree with Glenn Beck on. I certainly don't agree with his views on gay marriage, his religion, or his foreign policy.

That is not why homosexuality is wrong. That's not rational anyway because if "nature" is the standard of what is right and wrong, then homosexuality couldn't be wrong. It is present in nature. It's natural.

He will almost certainly change his tune in 2015/16 when ole' Ricky is running for POTUS again. I just don't trust Beck at all when it comes to being consistent and supporting liberty fully.

Every year that passes, more and more people support legalize government gay marriage. By 2016, support might be as high as 80% in some states. It's already well into the 60s in NH. The tide is quickly changing in ME and WA. If a Presidential candidate didn't at least support government civil unions for same sex couples by 2016, I'm not convinced the candidate could win.

BT, you simply don't get it. You don't get it because you haven't been paying attention. The "Romney lost because republicans are too harsh on social issues" meme has been all over the media. Glenn Beck being a Mormon is a totally irrelevant red herring and you are being fooled by it.

Edit: The basic cause for your confusion is that you either don't understand that Glenn Beck is a neocon or you don't understand the history and philosophy of the neocons. They are not conservatives. They are not necessarily Christians. Their religion, if they have one, is power. "Target audience"? They have none. Why do you think it's so easy for people like Mitt Romney to flip flop? And look at how easily neocons got behind Mormon Mitt Romney. Neocons are Trotskyites. They will sacrifice religious conservatives in a heartbeat. All that matters is taking more liberty away from people and advancing their globalist foreign policy. Let me know when Glenn Beck quits doing that.

What makes you think that a majority of voters are one issue voters who wouldn't ever vote for a politician who they disagreed with on that issue? Did the exit polls show that gay marriage was a top issue among voters?

A list of prominent Republicans who support "gay marriage:" Dick Cheney, Rudy Guliani, John Bolton, Steve Schmidt, Meghan McCain, Laura Bush, and now Glenn Beck. Can anyone really say that any of these people are "libertarian-leaning Republicans?" (With the possible exception of Beck.)

I can understand how badly people want one of the "big" "conservative" media folks to be espousing liberty and the views of libertarians but it is asking for it when they happen to say something you agree with and you get your hopes up.
