I don't get how that parlays into BUFFETING & PIMPING THE REPUBLICAN PARTY.

It is called "political activity". Which they are involved in. C4L just sent out in their email a candidate survey for all the PA state house and senate seats that are up for grabs this election and where the candidates stand on certain issues. While they are not allowed to endorse candidates, their rankings (based on survey results) amount to a tacit endorsement. It just so happens that the candidates that support C4L positions are Republicans.

Cheapseats, you seem to believe that ONE MAN, if he is elected, can fix the 100 years of damage that has been done to our Constitution and our country. It was never possible. It was always going to require a groundswell of liberty-minded people to get off their butts and get elected to office from dog catcher on up, all across this country. Then, the job will be to unwind all the unconstitutional laws, which will significantly reduce the size and scope of government.

It was never going to happen overnight. So, yeah, it is great to see more and more liberty candidates getting elected to office. And it will be up to us to hold their feet to the fire and toss them out on their asses, if they succumb to the siren song of government payola, or betray our principles in any other way.

The Republican Party is nothing more than a tool. You know we have this horrible 2 party system and if you want to get in debates, or get any media coverage at all, you have those 2 from which to choose. Beyond that, I don't care at all about the Republican Party and I have been in that Party for many years.

They aren't buffeting and pimping the GOP, we are collectively working to get libertarian-minded candidates into office. It just so happens that they best vehicle to use for that purpose is the GOP.

Yeah, I know there is. The question is how far the "f* this system" approach will get us. I don't think any of us likes the system we have now, and have had for quite a long time. The question is how to best proceed. I maintain that if we don't get involved in political action, we will never change it.

And your plan is what? Third parties? Been there done that - they don't win.

In the last 40 years the LP & CP combined have elected 13 people to state legislature positions. Meanwhile libertarian Republicans have been elected to hundreds of state and federal offices. One group is doing something, while the other group is doing nothing but complaining about "the system". One can only imagine what position we would be in right now if the very people who were on the sidelines complaining were instead on the front lines actually doing something.

I understand your frustration i do. I have been an activist since i was 18. I started with 80% of folks against what i was doing! Here in Colorado we put medical marijuana in the constitution and are running a legalize it campaign upcoming. We took over the party in my former county I moved to denver and in our district we elected 100% ron paul slate and on many resolutions we basically ron pauled the denver gop We elected the majority of delegates in Denver county to go to the State Convention just for example we got a 2/3 majority vote to reinforce the 10th amendment of the colorado constitution(medical marijuana) and voting 56% to legalize marijuana. There is your power as a republican. LE is speaking the TRUTH!!!

He doesn't have a solution. His plan is to continue voting for candidates who are ideologically "pure" and refuse to join the "system" and have no shot at ever winning and are just viewed as the laughing stock of the political arena.
