By lay low I mean lay off the controversial identity politics, social issues and focus on what people really care about. His little maga pep rallies seem to work for him so I doubt he stops them.
Two things:
One, you have been wrong about an awful lot of things here recently, so maybe you should lay low on the prognosticating, and just hang back and see what happens.
Two, little? These are the biggest political rallies I can recall in my lifetime, and he does one nearly every week.
You know, here's a thought: maybe these rallies are not strictly for Trump's benefit. Maybe he holds them not to stroke his own ego and strut around like
Il Duce.
Maybe it's for the people's benefit.
Maybe the fact that tens of thousands of people can gather together and realize they are not alone and are not silent.
Maybe they do it, in increasing numbers, because they have had enough, and realize that 50,000 people or more, all assembled to shout a giant Fuck You at the ruling class is a powerful thing and they want to be a part of it.
My son, my dad, my wife and my mother in law have been to a Trump rally.
I have not and was not intending to ever attend one.
But now I'm seriously considering riding over to Butler PA and attending that one, to do just that: shout Fuck You at the oppressors and destroyers of this nation.
