Gary Johnson Gary Johnson just announced that he is running for President

I'm glad he's changed on that point. Up to now he's been acting differently. That is an improvement, although it does sound like he's suggesting he'd have bad things to say if he opened up. Still, it is better, and he had to say something.

I think you are being overly defensive.

Waste of time? A lot of people said that about Ron in 2008 and look where it got him today. Do you consider Ron's 2008 run a "waste of time"?

Ron's run wasn't a waste of time because the part in bold is true only about Johnson:

Gary is nowhere near as good as Ron AND has zero chance. What a waste of time.

For more details as to why Ron is much, much better than Johnson, you can look at some of my posts today, or even better, at the articles by Bob Wenzel and Justin Raimondo.

Ron ain't that great of a candidate either by any objective measure. But he has gotten a lot better with practice. Rand was horrible when he first started out too.

Gary I suspect will be the same way but will get better with time.

It's sad seeing how many morons are on this board who preach Liberty but then bash Johnson. Please don't show yourselves when the campaigns start you're embarrassing and a huge turnoff to any potential Liberty voters.
I agree. This is nauseating.

I'm not talking about him not being a good candidate. I'm talking about not having good principles, like endorsing humanitarian wars and being lukewarm about attacking the Fed, the real culprit of our problems.

He told me himself he was misquoted on that.

Yes, the Fed is a problem, and it is one of the biggest. But one doesn't have to talk about the Fed day and night to be a libertarian-minded individual. Michael Badnarik for example doesn't discuss the Fed very much. Maybe it's just not in Gary's platform? Rand didn't discuss the Fed very much either, and still doesn't.

Yea, it is nauseating...but it is pretty clear why people would be pissed about Johnson running. As much as he is our ally, he is still our competition and a vote for GJ is still a vote not going to RP. American politics is a competition whether you like it or not. I like GJ a lot, but I want RP to be the next president of the United States. If I see a Romney voter, I will talk to them about liberty and try to get them to vote for RP. If I see a GJ supporter, I will not just lallygag on by because he has similar views.

I don't think Ron and Gary will necessarily pull from the same pool of voters. In other words, I think the GJ target audience is different than the RP target audience.

LOL! You have a great imagination.

Just using your logic. Gary didn't respond to misquote and allegations he's unfit. So, obviously Rand isn't fit since he didn't respond to O'Donnell. Or maybe you just believe in double standards for people named Paul, which means you are not based on principle.

Already answered that here why what you're saying is not true.

Maybe some symbols will help you:

word-by-word quote with full context =\= the rants of some moron
