My impression on the night is that Rand may have the most interesting points, and be the most intelligent (other than maybe Carson), but he doesn't play to those strengths. He tries to play the politician game, in which he comes across as a complete amateur. He's totally outclassed by Bush, Trump, and a couple others at the political speak game. He needs to just focus on the issues and stop trying to doublespeak.

Donald Trump — What can I say? He probably alienated some of his supporters, but those who are still there are probably even more enthusiastic about him. He’s going to continue dominating the media coverage. He made my troll self proud tonight.
Jeb Bush — Lacks charisma, but has that sense of inevitability about him. I don’t think he went up or down.
Scott Walker — I thought he went down. His eyes are off center and it’s really annoying.
Mike Huckabee — Huck might win Iowa because of tonight. He really tapped into the angry social conservative movement well.
Marco Rubio — Came across as really polished. I think he will be a contender the whole way.
Ted Cruz — Had a horrible night, I thought.
Ben Carson — Did well when HE WAS GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY. The dude got Jim Crow’d!
Rand Paul — Did well to not get any bad one liners across while reinvigorating his grassroots. He had a good night and will see an increase in the polls
Chris Christie — Had a good night. Came across as sharp and antagonistic (in a good way). I don’t think it translates in the polling though. He’s kind of the B version of Trump right now.
John Kasich — Was off and on. I thought the crowd really helped him.
