For Loyalists, Is It Ron Paul Or Nothing?

Anybody Like Paul

Unfortunately in these times that is basically the same as Nobody But Paul. But RP won't be running forever and we have to think in those terms.

But I'm never voting for a neo-con or liberal again. It feels like there's blood on my hands for what we did in Iraq and are currently doing in the Middle East. Probably to steal their oil. I don't like being a participant through taxes to murder.

And I'm never voting for someone who will take his master's instructions and legislate away my civil rights a la Patriot Act and NDAA. The oath is to "uphold" the Constitution, not find the most legalistic ways around it. This is what Ron has shown so well. A Congressman should look at every vote and ask themselves, "which is the most Constitutional choice I can make?" Our nation would be much better off if that were happening. But their Master's despise the Constitution and that's why we see 497-3 votes to further weaken it.

So it is unlikely I will vote Republican or Democrat in the general election for many years.

For me: candidate that gives me the maximum economic liberty

I love Paul, but the movement is bigger than a man.

No one but Paul.

As bad as Obama has been, and as much as I dislike him, I think I am slowly coming around to rather having him for four more years, than having Romney for possibly 8.

Obama in 2012, we can hope that we still have a country by 2016 and run someone else...

The seeds have been sewn for Obama to get re-elected. Get ready for the collapse America. Even in our country's greatest hour of need, people still won't wake up to the lies and corruption that have poisoned our government. History will look back on this time and wonder what Americans were smoking.

I agree with this. I think I'll vote for Gary Johnson or Paul. I have not decided yet. I suppose I'll wait a little longer to make my decision. In the meantime, I will buy more silver, ammo and stock up on water/food and pray that the above is incorrect.

I am done with the GOP. I have been a supporter and registered republican for over 20 years, but this election has helped me see their true colors. I doubt I will vote for a republican for a very long time. Their supporters are mis-guided and mis-informed by their masters and they are too brainwashed to see it.

I will say this one more time in this place, since I doubt I will be coming back very soon. Turn off the TV. Turn off the News. There is nothing good there. Without going off on a insert conspiracy theory here tangent. Try it for a couple of weeks. You might be surprised at the result.

As a side note, I'd really like to have a Romney/Obama bumper sticker or t-shirt that is a mash of their two logos. I think that would adequately express my dissatisfaction with the likely selection of candidates.

There are a few Obamney 2012 bumper stickers out there, though they could use some work. I made this:

No One But Paul for me. I will write him in. The Liberty movement is happening so we must keep our heads up. My boss has been a Libertarian/Ron Paul guy since 1988! Every time I talk to him he is absolutely ecstatic with the amount of people waking up.

This type of perspective would be very useful for this Forum.

Obama wins - USA goes NAZI.
MR/NG/RS wins - USA goes NUTS.

So yes, literally, the choice is Paul or Nothing.

I sure hope things are different this time.

Oh they will most certainly be different, but different how is the question.

Personally I doubt Ron Paul is even thinking past the Republican convention since neither he nor anyone else can actually know what will happen, and I believe him when he says he is concentrating on getting delegates and essentially amassing power. Let's see what comes of it in Tampa, what he can do with it, and how it plays out. If he somehow gets completely shut down despite this then he certainly has the clout to make sure the GOP loses in November, and they know this.

When I see Ron Paul giving more speeches to larger and larger crowds, and being enthusiastic and encouraged, it puts his lack of outright wins in a better perspective. Hell I actually watched some of Gingritch talk last night and he, despite winning Georgia, damn well knows he isn't going to get nominated and it showed. He's schoomzing and politicking as usual and once this election cycle is over he'll go back to obscurity along with Romney and Santorum.

But Ron Paul is going to be a force to reckon with for years to come, even out of politics should he lose this election. As more and more of his predictions come true he will gain more credibility. Even if everything collapses despite his best efforts there will be millions who know why, and who is to blame, and what the real solutions must be.

And that might end up making all the difference in the days to come.

I'd buy one of those.

It's on zazzle! I had one on my car, but my DH thought it was too insulting. It's going back on! If anyone deserves ridicule and insults, it's the bi-factional ruling party voting Booboisie. I'll see what I can come up with as far as an Obamney sticker too.

If Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination (and I'm not giving up yet), I will vote Libertarian assuming they nominate a decent candidate (which they failed to do in 2008).

I assume Gary Johnson will be the Libertarian Party nominee.

If that is the case, I will vote for Gary Johnson, who will be on the ballot here in Texas, rather than cast an UNCOUNTED write-in vote for Ron Paul.

I'm voting for Gary Johnson as well. The whole thing is rigged anyway. The revolution will take time, but we'll win.

I could see myself voting for Johnson or writing in Paul. I haven't made up my mind yet. I will not vote for a Republican.

Bob Barr is a meanie.

Exactly. I would urge all RP supporters to get out the vote for Obama in 2012. Obama is better than having 8 years of Romney followed by 8 years of Clinton (Hillary), followed by 8 years of Bush (Jeb).

I would prefer Obama over Santorum for the next 4 years period. It's the lesser of two evils.

The long game is vote for Obama in 2012 and make sure the Republican establishment goes down in defeat, then spend the next 4 years building on the organization we have to help Rand Paul get the nomination in 2016. That also means some of us actually running as candidates for local, state or federal office. The only way to remake the Republican party is from the inside out. You cannot win this game unless you can remove the tired old corporatists who run the party.

That's an interesting strategy that may hold some merit.

I voted for Obama as the lesser evil and out of spite in 2008.

However, there was no decent Libertarian candidate in 2008. This year, if the Libertarian Party nominates Gary Johnson (or some lesser known, but still decent candidate), I'll have to vote Libertarian.

Not that my vote matters, Texas is a Republican lock either way.

I "threw" my vote away in 08 with McCain. I have hated every minute of that moment in my life since then till now. I WILL NOT do that again. I WILL vote Paul if a write in is needed. I will have my voice heard even if it means dumbo gets 4 more.

The lesser of 2 evils is still evil

My thoughts exactly. I have dumbo with every fiber of my being, but atleast we can damage control with dumbo. He only has atmost 4 yrs left. Where as a Romney vote means we can't get a liberty candadit run till 2020. Are you willing to take that chance? I'm not. NOBP

Have you read, "End The Fed" by Ron Paul? Competing currencies will end the fed.

Got it right here by my desk, he's been very clear you can't just end it outright, competing currencies won't end it for sure, but it will give people choices, those choices may lead to the Fed's demise, but the choice will ultimately be up to the people
