Ferguson decision is in -- NO INDICTMENT

Okay. What's your point? Seriously? Mine is that the vast majority of the rioters were not representative of Ferguson proper.

I was asking for the basis of the claim that most of the people responsible for the violence and looting were from "out of town" or "non-local". What we ended up getting was a clarification that when it is repeated that those people are "out of town" it means they dont happen to live in the 6square mile area of Ferguson, MO. But around 74% (based on past statistics) of them are from the greater st. louis metropolitan area of which Ferguson is included. So they are close enough to walk or take the bus to ferguson but they are still considered "out of town".

all clear now.

Bottom line:

Brown was a criminal who assaulted and stole as he pleased. He assaulted a cop and tried to take his gun. Got shot. //

All the BS protesting would have happened anyway. This has nothing to do with Brown. Looters gonna loot.

shouldn't be a death sentence.

why didn't Wilson just report back he has a perp in that violent robbery over some cigars in his view. Has the approximate location of this mad man, then send in detectives to find him later. A big SCARY BLACK KID in the 400 block in the south end area of Ferguson. Cops find his dwelling, wait him out, or nail him leaving his home. Seems this shoot him dead BS is the lazy way to get 'results'...so now we have all this fun and games and wasted tax money....idiocracy indeed.

Last night was the exact opposite of August. They arrested 61 last night in Ferguson. Only two were from out of town.

Press conference is going on now with parents, lawyers and Sharpton. Every MSM station censored Sharpton.

One of the main reasons they are pissed is that the prosecutor said that out of 60 odd witnesses, only 4 were relevant...

There were active events all over the country. More rioting is expected tonight. City is promising LOTS of cops tonight.

During the press conference CNN is letting Sharpton answer questions.

The whole town thinks the police let the town burn down.

OOh, and MB's step father was driving the arson last night - getting on a car and hyping the crowd with "Burn this place down" - chanted repeatedly. It's apparently a YouTube that is going viral.

Ah. That explains a lot. There's an old saying that a prosecutor can indict a ham sandwich. But that caveat to that is "only if he wants to." Police and prosecutors work hand in glove most of the time and prosecutors are loath to burn their own assets.

If you don't want to get hurt then don't fucking be there. It's like someone crossing the street playing a game of chicken with the cars in the hopes one will hit them.

Statists are gonna state. And bored, unemployed, uneducated looters are gonna loot.

sarcasm?...

I think the entire police force should leave the town of Ferguson. As soon as they leave the violence will stop. Citizens will begin shopping for for their own protection agencies and governments and everything will be wonderful. :)

The glaring question is why didn't any of the bigger stores hire armed guards? Were they told not to? Why weren't the owners there (armed) to protect their businesses?

I sometimes see people lament the vandalizing and looting of private property and saw someone bring up a point that I summarize here:

Not everyone is vandalizing private property or looting. Most people there are simply protesting what they view as an injustice.

If it is not fair to paint the Boston Tea Party by the actions of Captain O'Connor, is it fair to paint the actions of the Ferguson protestors by the actions of a handful of vandals and looters?
(For details about Captain O'Connor, see this: http://www.encyclopedia.com/topic/Boston_Tea_Party.aspx )

City is promising LOTS of cops tonight.

That's what they said last night including national guard support, truth is they can't control it. Last night from watching the streams I noticed the police tried to employ usual riot tactics used in cities such as New York such as keeping crowds confined in controlled areas and anticipating where main protests groups were going to setup and demonstrate, unfortunately for business property owners this backfired. Misdirection (or incompetence of the police) caused most of the cops to be concentrated at the police and municipal buildings while a number of individuals on the other part of town looted and torched businesses.

Once more of those bent on destruction start to realize that misdirection and hit and run tactics are the way to go and that the cops are only going to respond (slowly) and observe there is a chance this may spread to surrounding towns and get worse.

I believe this was intentional. When things were starting to peak, the cops suddenly demanded that everyone "move north". This moved (and forced, with tear gas) the crowd away from the cop shop, which remained heavily guarded, to the commercial area, which remained unguarded. In other words, the cops wanted people to attack private businesses, rather than legitimate targets like the cop shop and other city buildings.
