It's definitely contaminated but Virginia is a Dillon's Rule state and the GOP has kept the progressive stuff out for the most part. Recently, however, the Dems took both houses and the governor's mansion. Virginia lost private sales and localities were allowed to set their own gun rules at that point. Lots of public places are no-carry now.

If you drive from DC into Virginia on I-66, you won't see a Virginia Welcome Center until you hit Manassas which is about 30 miles from the border. We don't count that contaminated stretch as part of Virginia.

I thought your governor was Glen Youngkin (sp)? I had a bad impression of VA based on the pervs in the schools (which are everywhere, I know) and thought I'd seen that some school district elected all commies over this issue.

Yes, Glenn holds the title of Governor for the corporation known as Commonwealth of Virginia. Although the commies are populous enough to impact state wide politics, geographically they are concentrated in NoVA (northern Virginia - between Manassas and DC), Richmond, and the Tidewater area. The rest of the state is very much not like that. You see confederate flags and open carry outside those three areas… even in cities.

All the school stuff is also in those same three areas.

Think Pennsyltucky or Illinois vs Chicago.

I'm not counting Kansas and Kentucky out.

Add them and it looks like a sweet secession map. Alberta almost reaches Alaska. Don't see a good way to connect New Hampshire, though.

Is governor of the commonwealth another office vs regular governor?

A few years ago when the illegal issue was hot (under Obama, maybe) I saw some stats on Virginia that were shocking. It was something like one in 20 may have been for foreign born 20 years ago and now it's something insane like 7 out of ten. Is that right? It seems almost impossible unless that majority of the population is concentrated in that area you mention. Something like that cannot happen naturally.

Tweedle-Dum and Tweedle-Dee down there in AZ and NM need to wake the hell up. What good is playing partisan politics when you end up with Mexican warlords running your State because you purposely won't defend your borders because Resident "Big Guy" Biden told you not to?! These people are delusional. The cartels won't give a damn about your American sensibilities, if they see an opportunity, they're just going to seize it. And that might not be the only thing they seize...

If only the Arizona GOP didn't help steal that election, eh? Katie Hobbs is the worst. She also looks like a total Karen and was a social worker so you know she is.
