Federal Reserve Policy Audit Legislation ‘Gutted,’ Paul Says

I'm pissed but I'm not the least bit surprised. To be expected in the corrupted politics of today. We knew they weren't going down without a huge fight. It's only the beginning.

Now, I want to know how one man can single-handedly gut an entire bill that has 307 cosponsors on his own decision? Who the hell is Mel Watt and why can he do this? Barney Frank is chairman of RP's committee, not Mel Watt, right? Can someone elaborate on how this is even possible? I want to make sure that this is completely accurate before we start responding. So far our ONLY source is a single Bloomberg article. RP himself hasn't said anything of this nature so I'm curious why it's suddenly in a MSM media outlet. I would have expected a CFL video before this article.

We MUST wait for confirmation before acting. Always remember that there are certain people that would love to provoke us into doing something stupid without having all the facts!!

His district certainly has a, um, peculiar shape...

yep thats a classic one. I am sure every black person in that area is in that district. We will need a black anti fed democrat running against him.

I'd disagree. We must cause Watts pain- even if he still wins- we need media ads running in his district telling people there what he did.

I think so to.
It won't cost us a lot individually but combined in effort we can make this bitch squeal.
Unleash the hounds.

I don't assume I speak for all of us- should I contact Johnson in regards to this matter?

If you really want to know about Paul Johnson, don't look at his "issues page" look at his Watt's Record Page.

Presumably, we would expect Paul Johnson to list Watt's votes that he disagrees with, right?

Well, about 75% thing I see on that list has to do with Watt voting against the war and the police state. Johnson is displeased that Watt voted against the RealID Act, against the Military Commissions Act, against the Iraq War, against the DHS, against a bill to "prohibit insurers from refusing coverage based on health status"! It's enough to make me like Mel Watt now!

Lets get a consensus.
Maybe another thread, I dunno.
Little more brainstorming.
You are the man though, think it out and pull the trigger.

WAIT FOR FURTHER CONFIRMATION FROM RP AND CFL BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE!

I say again, there are people that would love to provoke us into acting quickly without confirmation or all the facts. This is from BLOOMBERG people! They are NOT our friends.

WE MUST HAVE CONFIRMATION DIRECTLY FROM RP AND CFL BEFORE ACTING!

until you remember that Watts is in the pockets of the Fed, and Johnson doesn't have a clue about what is going on in washington. He is a Fox News product that may be saved.

Because Frank handed the bill to Watt to amend and attach to the huge federal banking regulation bill. Frank is who we really should be going after. Don't tell me he didn't know Watt would do this.

Good Point.
We surely have time to observe a few news cycles before committing to any certain action.

i'll email him and see if I can get him on the phone this weekend for a lil' heart to heart.

Frank has too much public scrutiny on his person to kill it directly. He needed a lesser known like Watt to do his bidding.

“There’s nothing left, it’s been gutted,” he said in a telephone interview. “This is not a partisan issue. People all over the country want to know what the Fed is up to, and this legislation was supposed to help them do that.” Ron Paul

Connect the dots people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:

Opposition to increased oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

In 2003 Watt vehemently opposed efforts by the George W. Bush administration and Congressional Republicans to increase regulatory oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.[7] "I don't see much other than a shell game going on here, moving something from one agency to another and in the process weakening the bargaining power of poorer families and their ability to get affordable housing", Mr. Watt said.[7] Watt said that "Brad Miller and I were at the forefront of that more than anybody else in America" in trying to prevent the financial crisis, despite the fact that Watt's stated position was against an increase and more oversight for high risk lending.[8]

ok, what do you think of this email before i send it:

Dear Sir,

I'm contacting you on behalf of Liberty Movement- in particular- the guys from http://www.libertyforest.com

We recieved word tonight that Mr. Watts has gutted Ron Paul's bill HR1207 that would allow for the first ever independent audit of the federal reserve.

This move has angered many americans, and the word is just getting out.

We have discussed options of possibly funding your race in the same magnitude that we have with Dr. Rand Paul and Peter Schiff- both of whom have raised over a million dollars each from our grassroots movement.

Our hesitation with supporting anyone is knowing their dedication to the U.S. Constitution and their dedication to the advice of our founders.

We have some upcoming fundraising events, and we may decide to include you in those moneybombs.

If possible, i'd like to talk to you over the phone to see if you are indeed someone who is worthy of our support.

It would be our greatest desire to remove Watts from office, and at the very least- expose him for what he has done.

You can reach my at my personal cell- xxx-xxx-xxxx(call anytime)

or you can send me contact info and a good time to call.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Well if it is a hoax, a lot of congressmen are going to get a good idea not to mess with HR 1207. I already emailed my congressmen.:D
