[FEBRUARY MONEYBOMB] - VOTING AND DECIDING ON THEME

Which fundraiser-theme should we adopt in February?

  • Bailout for Freedom

    Votes: 44 24.9%
  • Something's Happening Here

    Votes: 22 12.4%
  • No One But Paul

    Votes: 84 47.5%
  • Happy birthday Carol Paul

    Votes: 11 6.2%
  • a different theme (comment!)

    Votes: 16 9.0%

  • Total voters
    177
Now here is a question, what do you think your ETA is on a pledge site for NOBP? I think it lends itself well to supplemental activities so we'll need to get those going.

How about the Anti-Mitt Bomb

Maybe it will get all anti mitt supporters

I doubt it and it doesn't sound good to me when a presidential candidate starts a moneybomb with another candidate in its title.

Current results as of 10:17 AM (EST)
1. No One But Paul 72 votes (71 + maximus)
2. Bailout For Freedom 40 votes (41 - maximus
3. Something's Happening Here 20 votes

As I wrote yesterday, I will 'close' the poll in 1 hour and 40 minutes, by making a final snapshot of the poll results.

Just opened a campaign letter asking me to become a "Defender of the constitution" by maxing out NOW! They are asking me "...complete your financial support so we can continue to pull out all the stops...", and I'm going all in.

These money bomb themes as others have put it, need to be powerful. NOBP is just that, it's a multi dimensional message, shouldn't the grass roots be pulling out all the stops?

You know those tears that start to form, the ones that cloud your vision, tears of hope, joy, and then the motivation with cheers, chants that they bring about? If a MB theme can do that the money will follow, just like the BTO.

I saw a thread where people were saying Ron Paul chant was getting boring, I gotta chant now that isn't. Who. NOBP!

I guess all I'm sayin is NOBP is pure gold. (sry but I just those tears right now! Can't even see my keys)

Alright, hereby the poll is closed.

FINAL RESULTS OF POLL
1. No One But Paul 74 votes (73 + maximus)
2. Bailout For Freedom 40 votes (41 - maximus)
3. Something's Happening Here 20 votes

It looks like No One But Paul theme is the clear winner.

I would like to point out that over the last 24 hours the votes were as follows:
No One But Paul 40 votes
Bailout for Freedom 13 votes
Something's Happening Here 10 votes

In other words, although in the first day the vote was split between Bailout for Freedom and No One But Paul, there now seems to be a considerable consensus that No One But Paul should be the Moneybomb-theme.

The grassroots are seriously dropping the ball on this, I think. SHH has the perfect combination of a good timeline and a viral concept. If this NOBP turns out to be a dud like I think don't say you weren't warned.

I wasn't online in general much at all yesterday so I didn't see this poll. Just to lay out more plainly why I think the SHH moneybomb is the best concept than either of the others. Bailout for Freedom sounds too contrived. I do like the "Liberty is too big to fail" slogan, but the "Bailout for Freedom" just doesn't resonate or inspire. No One But Paul is a non-starter for a lot of reasons:

1. It is too factional and divisive for most people. A moneybomb should partly be about getting new supporters, but, more importantly, it should be about getting existing supporters who haven't donated to put their money down. This works for rallying passionate supporters, but not more tentative supporters.

2. The concept would not really fire up most people who are not devoted supporters. Most uninvolved in the grassroots effort would find it pig-headed to insist Paul is the only candidate they should vote for in the presidential election.

3. We would have no clear thematic element to really inspire people with it. The concept does not really communicate strongly what we are about.

Here are my reasons for why SHH is a great concept:

1. This concept has a strong unifying and dissident nature to it. People who have not donated are more likely to get excited by the general idea.

2. It has strong potential for inspiring and driving people to support Paul. Look at where we have had success. Appealing to November 5th with the idea of opposing an oppressive government that has exploited people's fears to centralize power. The Tea Party moneybombs harken back to a time of revolution and political upset. Black This Out attacked the media campaign to suppress a voice for liberty. What you have with the SHH concept is something that taps into a feeling that can not really be insulted. People's distrust of the government and the establishment as well as their desire for radical change cannot be insulted or regarded as weak like these other two ideas.

3. Following from the second point is the theme. From my perspective this idea would bring together almost all of the major ideals we support. It doesn't make it about Ron Paul the person, but about the idea of Ron Paul. We are talking about a moneybomb that has so much viral marketing potential. An acronym like SHH can tap into the same "censorship" and attack on establishment media meme that made BTO successful. We not only say they are blacking out Ron Paul, but that they black out what he believes. At the same time the name "Something's Happening Here" and drawing attention to things like NDAA, The Patriot Act, and SOPA among breaches of liberty by the government taps into that November 5th/Tea Party meme of fighting against a corrupt and abusive government. Moreso the general moneybomb concept together with it being on the date for the executive order that led to the Japanese-American detention camps gets into the foreboding warning that November 5th hit upon about where the country is headed.

NOBP, to me, just reinforces the establishment line about Paul's supporters being some sort of fringe cult obsessed with a man and ignoring his imperfections. SHH communicates that this is about "an idea whose time has come" as they say.

I agree with this, so maybe a tittle that has more potential to grow with current events leading up to the donation date should be chosen. RE-VOTE! Poll has been spammed by Paul supporters :) guilty I am.

Most uninvolved in the grassroots effort would find it pig-headed to insist Paul is the only candidate they should vote for in the presidential election.

Thats been considered, and NOBP has been spun not give any indication of the sort or sound like some type of ultimatum. Issue solved.

The only thing about SHH I don't like is there is no message, the establishment ignored so in response BTO, now the establishment is going after pauls supporters, were all potheads that don't know shit. it's so fucking insulting, and maybe we are all here overreacting with NOBP. Shhhh! May be a more tempered response, but it's just seems soo timid, I fear I will not as tittle inspire.

I agree with the rest of your comments good stuff, but I also believe we can spin, NOBP can help an idea whose time has come. Paul is quoting from Hugo.

Q. Are we at the tipping point? Maybe we can try and sell that too
Q. Or something about drawing a line in the sand? Ndaa soap etc?

Whats going on? WGO?
Anyway good post, just because there is majority for NOBP, doesn't guarantee the best results. But we shouldn't get stuck in debate either.

I 100% agree... The whole internet is a buzz over SOPA, PIPA, NDAA, and WE are going with "no one but Paul?" What a missed opportunity...SAD!

Well, we started on Bailout for Freedom for February and planned to tie in the NDAA, SOPA/PIPA stuff but the forum has spoken and it looks like NOBP is the winner. That said it looks like NOBP may well be done with a twist that can encorporate what he has said about NDAA, SOPA/PIPA.

How does a "Bailout," or "something" that's "happening" have anything more to do with SOPA, PIPA, and NDAA than refusing to vote for anyone but Ron Paul?

This will work just splendidly. Tie it in with SOPA and all that in your videos.

"Something's happening here" could have been kind of spooky or Twilight Zone themed (which I liked) for SOPA, NDAA, etc.. And "Bailout for Freedom" is just more inviting to people.

We need new donors, that was the one big goal with this money bomb, and people voted for probably the most uninviting theme for new donors.

Man, I keep saying we should quit arguing and promote, but I keep doing it myself. Anyway, I'm done.

**Head's up!!** Bailout for Freedom (the clear 2nd place winner) is continuing to move forward, for March now instead of February. Even if people go in as far as they think they can in Feb. chances are some with another paycheck will be able to go a little further and help Dr. Paul with $$ to campaign in later primary states.

No one but Paul will VETO PIPA, SOPA, AND HELP REPEAL NDAA. I do not see the problem with "No One But Paul" plus on black this out facebook I tested it out. I asked if you will not vote for anyone but paul click "like". Over 2000+ likes in less than 24 hours. This will spread like wild fire.

In another thread, we turned No One Put Paul into a positive, with 20+ scripting points for videos and such, and a superb graphic for the front page. What happened to that?
