[FEBRUARY MONEYBOMB] - VOTING AND DECIDING ON THEME

Which fundraiser-theme should we adopt in February?

  • Bailout for Freedom

    Votes: 44 24.9%
  • Something's Happening Here

    Votes: 22 12.4%
  • No One But Paul

    Votes: 84 47.5%
  • Happy birthday Carol Paul

    Votes: 11 6.2%
  • a different theme (comment!)

    Votes: 16 9.0%

  • Total voters
    177
My heart says Something's Happening here, because it's such a wonderful and inspiring message with broad base appeal. If we want to rally even more young people, this is the one to go with.

My head says No One But Paul, because that is our ace in the hole and, other than the truth, is our most powerful weapon going forward.

Bailout for Freedom misses the mark. It's a bit too contrived, in my mind. The others are non-starters for me.

I propose an "End the Fed" theme I think that goes over quite well

I think this is a good theme.

Perhaps an "End the Fed" bomb? Then an "End the Wars" bomb?

I don't like "Bailout for Freedom". We're against bailouts, aren't we? Kinda seems counter-intuitive.

From those in the poll I chose: No One But Paul. I think this sends a clear message that we're not going anywhere.

There's no way they can promote a No One But Paul moneybomb. It would be political suicide.

Totally agree, that's why we have to spin and not give any indication or mention the true meaning until its do or die.

From the other thread:

No One but Paul will repeal the Patriot Act and return our 4th amendment freedoms
No One but Paul will bring all our troops home
No One but Paul will balance the budget

etc. (obviously we would want to pick the most hard hitting and important things and phrase them carefully)

That's why my vote is for No One but Paul. <==exclude this there more spin in the other thread i found very motivating and informative, 4 birds with one stone!

NOBP theme may be more applicable later down the stretch.

I just don't see how that is more marketable than Bailout for Freedom, or even Something's Happening Here.

I'm sorry, but this is wrong to do NOBP at this point. Leave that for a little later.

How about this .... (shh) No one but Paul! Meaning its a no one but Paul moneybomb with a somethings happening here theme. The somethings happening here is "The Revolution" who supports No One But Paul! I think this would make for great video's and great inspiration.

Keep in mind whatever the theme is... We must ACT FAST and spread the word to make this huge. We have an audience now with the primary season in full effect, and no one can raise money like the grassroots. I repeat NO ONE CAN RAISE MONEY LIKE THE GRASSROOTS! It's up to US!

Lets decide, move and promote like there is no tomorrow!

Start it with Paul's voting recorded he never voted to... Isn't a good issue about Trust, ( bomb? ) no one but Paul can be trusted to ....
If the number of posts I just threw out any indication of how ramped up I'm getting sry :)

Toss up between Bailout for Freedom and Something Happening Here with No One But Paul as my third choice.

Imagine what Fox News and CNN will do with a "No One But Paul" theme and the video in #87.

We are no longer JUST a ragged insurgency. Save "No One But Paul" for a while. It will have it's use later.

It's too early in the game to throw our ace in the hole on the table.

strategically... I think your right.

Yeah, I've said it before but feel like strategically it would be good to get past Super Tuesday before pulling the no one but paul card.

It sounds like the no one but Paul one is off and running... but not entirely sure?

Bailout for Freedom seemed to be the consensus a week ago and we've had a domain, hosting and someone working on the web stuff for B4F as of 3 days ago. Encroachment on our freedoms is kind of a hot topic right now with the internet blackout and such so it seems like it would be timely.

Now NOBP sounds like it has assembled a creative team yesterday and today. I messaged one of the organizers. I just see so many cool tie ins for No One But Paul...contests, twitter bomb, sign waves...so it feels like a little later in the contest + slightly warmer weather would be a great combo to make it HUGE.

We'll see. I don't want to be a pushy b*tch but at the same time it seems like we should be able to make both happen and since each has a team it would be more effective to run them in February + March or some other combo that doesn't have them overlapping.

Agree! :)

I think we can do two, but I still say NOPB is better for AFTER Super Tuesday - after the field has been culled more!

I say go for it... I'll donate to both:) Plus, we now have a "Variety" of money bombs.

Ok, since I loved your spin on it,

what about just the spin and not mentioning anything about it is how we would just not vote for anyone else? We would just be playing a card already been shown, and only the hardcore supporters would be the double meaning for motivation?

A slight change in the acronym: maybe. Trust no one but Paul. TNOBP!

Yea sorry about that I remember mentioning in a thread from last week the official campaign coming in a week before Dec. 16th and basically duplicating a pledge page and how the official campaign was sending mixed signals probably helped to get the ball rolling in terms of grassroots taking back the MBs. Considering this last MB could have been a lot more successful and some of the brainstorming and motivation probably was fueled by the question as to whether they were going to be fully responsible going forward for MBs or if the grassroots is better positioned to organize and promote these. Believe me when I then saw you guys start up a thread for a grassroots organized MB I was happy to see it, we really do need to take this back this activity that originated in the grassroots. However I did not see until last night or the night before that there was some options for MB themes, the poll especially brought up again the debate we have been having all election cycle about whether to go with a soft theme or to go with a although some would say theme geared for more hard-core supporters, I would say a more passionate theme.

I just can't in all honesty support the theme "Bailout" for anything it's such a negative word not just for others outside of the campaign but for those that would be targeted to ask for donations. it really shouldn't be used as fundraising message, but that's just my opinion. When I saw that NOBP was another option and considering a meme had already begun in the grassroots it seemed the obvious choice. I would suggest that the group organizing B4F target March and let NOBP focus on February or if that is not acceptable then have both themes run and target the same date that way both approaches can be used and would probably support a even more successful fundraising day.

Either is fine with me for February 17th. I do think if we do No One but Paul this month we should take All Way's suggestion and stick to the "No One but Paul x, y and z" theme I mentioned earlier and not say a word about not voting for anyone but Paul. if the media wants to say "supporters claim no one but paul will bring our troops home now, if he doesn't get the nomination will vote for no one but paul? then that is their deal.
