I'm sure Huckabee will be on first to warm the crowd up with some nice jokes, a few childhood stories, and maybe a haiku. Then the crowd will be ready for a serious message with substance and facts.

I'm loath to criticize Dr. Paul, especially on this site, but he has to be more positive and confident on his chances of winning.

When it appears you aren't sure you have a chance to win, people see you as flawed. Bob Scheiffer implied that he has no chance, and Dr. Paul didn't dissuade him (or the audience) of that notion.

Voters aren't going to waste their time on "losers". Unfortunately, the "sports team" analogy holds up...people want to back a winner.

I've been backing the same sports teams since I first watching sports so that's a bad analogy. Ron Paul is humble and honest and he comes across this way. He's genuine and says what he truly believes. People want to change that, run his life, and run his campaign. I don't though. I think he did a superb job in this interview and he's doing a fantastic job with his campaign and carrying the torch of liberty across the country. Today is a day that I believe Ron Paul should be commended, not criticized.

Let me be clear, when I say speech writer I dont want him to change his charm of message I think the use of more compelling and convincing use of words would be a good idea.

Remember the MSM is still selling the Iran threat as eminent. I just dont see the line "mind our own business" as a viable rebuttal. I think "protect America's border from both foreign and domestic threats" would be more suitable. Simple stuff like that - both mean the same thing.

Thats just me though....

I think he said it that way to emphasize the fact that Lyman is not an official paid member of the official campaign - just a grassroots volunteer like the rest of us here! The MSM cannot fathom a self-propelled campaign like Dr. Paul's campaign has become. I have recieved very few basic general guidelines, and people are very helpful when I ask for advice, but I am not a paid campaigner nor am I very experienced with all of this door-knocking and stuff. I have never been this motivated before, I guess.

The MSM do not "get" us - but Dr. Paul sure does!!!!

Thank you to whomever upped the vids. Paul did excellent, his bit about Seoul being better defended than Washington was AWESOME!

Momentum is really building, which means its up to US to push even harder than before. We can do this.

And I disagree that he needs a speechwriter. A major thing that endeared me to Paul in the early days was that you got the feeling that he was speaking from his heart and not reciting some contrived message from someone elses brain. I've never gotten that feeling from a Presidential candidate in my life thus far which is why I've been very disenfranchised.

He is more knowledgable on these subjects than anyone. Hindsight is always 20/20, and sure there are times when he wasn't 100% perfect w/ every syllable coming out of his mouth. But like he says, he has his shortcomings but the message doesn't.

It isn't the fact that he needs someone to write a contrived message from someone else's brain. It is that fact that he needs a more focused delivery of HIS ideas. I think a lot of us like his off the cuff remarks but Paul needs to appear presidential to the millions of voters that will decide this election that are not as interested in his ideas as you and I.

I also agree Paul needs to tell these reporters that he is 100% confident that he is going to win the nomination and that the people will choose not to pick a prepackaged candidate that offers nothing new.

I think RP handled the "slow pitch" perfectly.

Maybe if we had $500,000 when he went into taping, mentioning today would have been a "win". But currently we are around $100K for the day so far, and if he had brought it up and today didn't raise a million dollars, it would have been an overall negative imo.

With what was raised Monday, expectations for today should be muted.

Endorsing the 16th as the next "bomb" was perfect.

BRILLIANT performance by Dr. Paul. I find it hard to comprehend that we have such a consummate communicator delivering this message. His ability to answer the laundry-list of anti's question in such a breathtaking way should be studied by scientists.

I agree with the person on another thread. Paul shouldn't get a speech writer. A speech writer should get Paul.
