Face it..We either win or lose this election tommorrow in NH

Delegates are what matter.

Yes, but in most states, the GOP "machine" controls over 1/2 of the delegates.

There's really only two ways to get in as one of the main delegates in most states.

First is to have planned WAY ahead and live in an area that is 90% Democrat so that the existing local Republican party consists of some guy, his wife, and his youngest son -- you just have to have a bigger family, and then take over the party.

OR, if you have a REALLY large meetup and can get EVERYONE to actually join the GOP (slim chance) and then have them actually show up at the meetings where delegates are voted for (even slimmer chance) and get them to override the rest of the party people.

Other than that, you can stay delusional.

...and what might these other factors be? Blimps? Money bombs? A fanatical following devoid of reality and sanity? It surely cannot be support. He's polling at less than 4% nationally...had no chance of winning Iowa, has no chance of winning in New Hampshire, and he has no chance of winning any primary at all...let alone a major one. In short...Ron Paul chance of earning his party nomination only only slightly above the likes of Tancredo, Keyes, Kucinich, Dodd, etc....

Go back to your TV and watch your polls.

WFD 40 is Dead Wrong!!!

The breakout State for Dr. Paul is going to be the Nevada Caucus on January 15th.

Nevada has 34 delegates compared to 12 for New Hampshire and will be the 5th State to be contested. This is still early and will give the Campaign time to build the big Mo!!! for Super Tuesday.

It is sad that a senior member of this Forum is sounding so defeatist.

Apparently, some of you have never fought an uphill battle in your lives. If we're smart, we learn and gain knowledge from our failures that catapult us to our ultimate success. Life is not easy and life is not fair. You take the cards you're dealt and when every card in your hand is the lemon suit, then you make lemonade. Ron Paul is not going away; neither is his message. Any of us is free to jump ship any time we like. Things are going to get a whole lot hotter before this is over.

Yes, everything about campaigns and politics is rigged. Why do you think it's known as a dirty business. For heavens sake, this is nothing new. We're just seeing the high-tech version of it evolve. (Dead voters are so yesterday!) Remember last year when Karl Rove said with defiance that the Republicans were going to win? He knew "the math?" Well, he didn't know the math well enough, and whatever rigging they did was not enough. Everything we do has to be outside of the establishment's margin of error and outside of their limited view of the world. That's why the money bombs and the blimp and the air corp garnered attention--because they were way outside of the box and unexpected.

We can win by an unexpected MOE OR we can win at the convention. However it is that we do it, it will have to be WAY outside of the box and outside of anything that the establishment can imagine. In the meantime, we do everything that we can AND we expose everything while we're at it--like FOX's disgraceful performance and Frank Luntz's little production.

Come on, where's the fighting spirit? Each failure brings us closer to success. How many times did Benjamin Franklin fail? How many times did Thomas Edison fail? Let's snap out of it. For God's sake, let's don't pull a Hillary and let them see us sweat! (I can't believe that Hillary let a few tears flow in NH in front of supporters and reporters!) Let our only tears be tears of joy when we've earned them.

Many years ago in my first election, election night was really ugly. Results from the eastern part of the state flowed in and they were bad. I mean REALLY BAD! That was our strong hold! Then, what do you know, the rest of the state started pouring in from the incumbent's stronghold. And, you know what? We won. Who was the incumbent? We SHOCKED the state. Al Gore's father, Albert, Sr. It can be done, even against all odds.

No matter what, we must hold our heads high, because we represent Dr. Paul and no matter what happens, the fight goes on.

Freelance, you need to work for the official Ron Paul campaign. That was a very good post. You might want to think about starting a thread with that post. More people need to hear that message. Never ever give up! Really you can't give up, then you will lose for sure. At least by trying you have a chance at winning.

Please, give me some of whatever you are on. :) He's polling at less than 4% nationally...and averages anywhere from 2% to only 10% is state primary polls. If you feel that Paul has a chance...I'm sure that the Keyes camp could use some of that enthusiasm and/or delirium.

Most people don't know anything about Ron Paul, so those polls don't mean much. If they knew about him and the issues he is for and he was still polling that low then it would be very bad news. But that is not the case at all. Zogby has done a blind poll on the issues alone and the the clear winner, among Republican and Democrat candidates stance on the issues, is the issues Ron Paul is for by a large margin. So if you like to trust polls, I certainly don't, then this poll should give you hope that Ron Paul can indeed win in a fair election.

So...he supports the Constitution as is...no wait...he supports the Constitution, but only after removing certain portions. Got it...

yeah, so did the men who wrote it. you support the Constitution, and if you want to change it, you bring it to vote, pass it and keep supporting it. that's what Ron Paul does.

The only thing that is certain is that things will continue to change before this primary season is over. The momentum shifts day to day and is magnified by the media pimping their stories. No one has a crystal ball. Factors that can easily change the polls (for or against us):

1. Current events (major economic or geopolitical events). What happens if Wall Street tanks?
2. Our opponents. What does the race look like without some of our more cash-strapped adversaries?
3. The Message reaching more and more Americans through Ron's campaign and the grassroots. That doesn't happen if he drops out.

You have to play to win. Dr. Paul can and should continue to play. Who would have thought we'd be this far six months ago?

hoosierdaddy101 is a troll and needs to be perma-banned pronto.

He is probably a Free Republic poster here to disrupt the conservative campaign of Ron Paul. They are a bunch of liberals posing as conservatives. They actually support the most brain dead candidate of them all, Fred Thompson. That site will ban you instantly if you speak of Ron Paul too much over there. They are a bunch of losers posting to each other all day.

Article Five: Process of Amendments

Main article: Article Five of the United States Constitution

Article Five describes the process necessary to amend the Constitution. It establishes two methods of proposing amendments: by Congress or by a national convention requested by the states. Under the first method, Congress can propose an amendment by a two-thirds vote (of a quorum, not necessarily of the entire body) of the Senate and of the House of Representatives. Under the second method, two-thirds (2/3) of the state legislatures may convene and "apply" to Congress to hold a national convention, whereupon Congress must call such a convention for the purpose of considering amendments. As of 2008, only the first method (proposal by Congress) has been used.

Once proposed—whether submitted by Congress or by a national convention—amendments must then be ratified by three-fourths (3/4) of the states to take effect. Article Five gives Congress the option of requiring ratification by state legislatures or by special conventions assembled in the states. The convention method of ratification has been used only once (to approve the 21st Amendment). Article Five currently places only one limitation on the amending power—that no amendment can deprive a state of its equal representation in the Senate without that state's consent.

But is the above enough? Will the GOTV database function in NH? Or will we see a repeat of Iowa?

These are BIG question marks in my opinion.
1) WHY was Ron not there more?
2) Money? B.S. Where exactly did the $5.4 Million from the 3rd Quarter go? And the 4th Q "goal" of $12M was nearly reached a month ahead of time.

We were lead to believe that that money was going to MAINLY go towards NH, with Iowa and probably SC being slightly lower priorities.

Well? Was the money spent in NH? From what I have seen on dollar analysis of advertising in NH by the candidates, it was not.

Blame Obama... cool, that sounds like a really good excuse to let the campaign staff off the hook.

Paul HQ has apparently decided what it spent in NH is sufficient given the other organizing factors. He will use the bulk of the cash for advertising in the bigger states, to compensate for the lack of ability to 'retail' campaign on Super Tuesday, and more importantly to compete with Giuliani and Romney's $$.

Rules of the forum: there are no trolls.

One thing the OP did not take into consideration is a meltdown of the leading candidates. Remember how well Dean imploded after winning the initial primary? Even coming in 4th, there's room for improvement on our end, and certainly room for self destruction on the other side. Take Hilary crying, for example... How many potential voters did that slap back to reality? If someone can't handle the campaign stump without tearing up, how on earth will they handle the stress of being the president of such a mammoth government? If I had any leanings towards Hilary (not that I did - I'd rather go gay), they'd have totally evaporated for me today. So it might be with Huck, or McCain. Should a skeleton pop out, the entire deck will get reshuffled.

I absolutely DISAGREE. So you think we should all curl up and die? Quitters won't get anywhere. Ron Paul supporters must KEEP PUSHING THEIR MAN while they have the opportunity.
