Extremely extremely dissappointed

srmpass,

Thanks for your support of Ron Paul. I hope your story convinces some people that cutting off visas from "terrorist nations" is bad policy even though it "sounds good."

Any other thoughts on this matter?

YES, wrong forum! I don't care about your criticisms or your hurt feelings. Catering to hurt feelings instead of adhering to the Constitution is part of what got this country into it's current mess.

You're an American now. If you were so concerned with the plight of Pakistan maybe you should have stayed instead of abandoning her.

The problem is the CIA let them in and bypassed normal scrutiny. Plus they were set up. Think of Dr. Paul's TV ad as applying to the CIA and you'll sleep a lot better.

Ya if anything CIA has more of a role in this regard. I think one of the primary reasons of the visa debacle prior to 911 was a failure of intelligence if anything. Our intelligence needs to be less focused on Political Correctness and more on rooting out those who are illegally here (if indeed it falls under their jurisdiction).

Brian, that is the wrong attitude to take. You are just pissing people off, getting personal like this.

I don't agree with that wording either. I think cutting of visas from ALL nations would be a better idea until we get OUR house in order.

This may be the last time I address you. Understand that you are talking to a person who agrees with Ron Paul 80%.

Also, re-read everything you wrote. Are you trying to incite hatred of any kind? I'm not sure why you are so antagonistic.

Don't feed the trolls. :D

It's not a free speech forum. It's a 'get our man elected' forum. The lousy moderation is why half the damn posts come from trolls.

Despite what people from other campaigns say, we are not "Paul-bots." We debate, we think, we reason. Or at least, many of us do. That's part of what makes supporting Ron Paul stimulating.

So when supporters have concerns or disagreements with each other, the campaign, or even the candidate himself, I think it does alot of good to air it out.

Pleasantries are reserved for those who don't come here criticizing Dr. Paul. This isn't a political round table. I came here from the DailyPaul to get away from the constant trolling.

Ok, so your support in Paul is 100%, WE GET IT,

GOOD

FOR

YOU!

Stop alienating and antagonising his supporters who don't agree with him 100% on every issue.

I respectfully disagree. It encourages those with less than honorable intentions to come here and cause trouble. Divide and conquer is a tried and true methodology.

Student Visas are frequently abused

My wife worked in the graduate department of an upper tier midwest university, and the student visa's were often abused. There were networks of fellow countrymen that coached the applicants on exactly what to do to be accepted to the school, and how to get the visas. The English equivalency scores were often falsified so the applicant would pass; the grades often were suspicious or unverifiable. The applicants always askked for, and frequently received, waivers of the application fees (citizens' never were). The professors were usually desperate for someone to teach their scut classes, otherwise they had to teach them themselves, so they put enormous pressure on the staff to let the students in.
Then, it was common for the students to start bringing their families in one or more at a time, and then everyone just overstayed their visas. The family housing was full of extended families living in the tiny 1 and 2 bedroom apts. that the grad students qualified for.
Then they would have children and bingo, they can't be deported, and as soon as they finished their program, most of them disappeared into America.
There were some sad effects, too, such as one foreign professor who actually networked with the students he helped bring in, and preyed on them. He was a landlord who would cram a bunch of students in and overcharge them; he sold them ratty old overpriced cars, and then would buy them back when they left for peanuts.
Another problem was the conflict frequently caused when the foreign students who really weren't proficient in English couldn't effectively teach the classes, and the other students had a fit. (and were subsequently called racists).
It is a terrible problem.

It's ok not to agree with him 100% but it's not ok to air it out in public. I've noticed your posts to be a bit trollish as well.

Stop it!

Stop threatening not to donate!
Stop threatening not to vote!

This is our ONLY chance to get a good man in office!

And you want to fight over minescule things!
If you don't like his policies, fine, address them - when he is president!

Otherwise, student visas from "terrorist" nations will be the least of your worries.

SUPPORT.
DONATE.
VOTE.

Yes, as a former immigrant I know exactly what you mean. This gives more impetus towards effective immigration policy, and most of it I believe would probably come from a more stringent approach to student visas. I think sometimes its way to easy for students to obtain visas in certain countries and more perimeters should be involved in the decision making process. But no blanket refusal!
