I'm reposting this here because I want a lot of people to see it and maybe I can get some answers... Feel free to move it eventually. :)

I hate to get all conspiracy minded on ya (actually no I don't lol), but I was wondering how there was an attack on a US consulate or embassy in Benghazi, Libya when neither of those things exist in that city?
According to at least 6 different websites that list all the embassies etc. in the world (including the US Embassy website), there is no US embassy, consulate, mission, or anything located in Benghazi nor has there ever been...
Can anyone explain this?

LBennett76 - i had the exact same thought as you and just filed it away under the overflowing mental file titled, "another example of how f#cking dangerous and stupid our government is."

Kinda interesting...looks like other countries have offices there, but I am coming up with nothing as well regarding the U.S. there. Good luck on finding some information on this.

I suspect it is a "new embassy" because it is opened in the town that was the seat of the recent revolution, hence it may not be listed.

Where did you get the coordinates? Where is any mention of this place PRIOR to the attacks? And that says map of "embassy". It is NOT an embassy. The only embassy is in Tripoli. Anything else is consulates and missions. This place is listed absolutely nowhere. You're showing me after the fact information. I want to see in writing one mention of this place existing before 9/12.
And then also explain how wooden office furniture in a burnt out building doesn't have so much as a scorch mark on it.

I actually have an old sorority sister whose husband is in the military. She just left being stationed in Italy for quite a few years and is now in Spain. Her husband gets deployed all over the place. Her response was: "Maybe what really happened is confidential so this is a hoax until they find who did it. Military does do things like that sometimes." Her comment was then liked by another person connected to the military.
Interesting stuff. I just think it's a disservice to the men who died to lie to the American public/world about what happened.

"We deplore the attack on our diplomatic mission in Benghazi," State Department spokesman Mark Toner told a news briefing.

6/6/12 Bombing. That's all I've got. No other mentions found. Extensive search. Talk of creating a mission 10/2011. Then a 6/6/12 Bombing of a mission never officially opened. Then the Ambassador last week.

Why are we maintaining two thread on this? Why in grassroots central? Hardly grassroots.

I posted it here a second time because a lot of people only come to this section. I just wanted to see if ANYONE out of all RP's supporters and their excellent research skills could find this info. Originally no one was responding to the other thread. I said they could move it if they felt like it. They must not have got around to it. :)
