Dear Candidates:

The verification and counting of provisional ballots in Congressional District 4 has concluded. There has been one change in the final results: Sharon Nixon was elected as a delegate and Flo Alexander was not. The specific number of votes for each candidate in District 4 will be updated on our website, www.lagop.com, tomorrow morning.

The verification and counting of provisional ballots in Congressional District 6 has concluded and the additional ballots did not affect the outcome of any races. The updated results in District 6 are posted at www.lagop.com.

We are working with registrars of voters across the state in an effort to quickly conclude this process. Thus far, approximately 2/3 of the individuals who cast provisional ballots have been identified by registrars as Democrats or Independents. Their ballots, of course, will not be counted or added to the totals of any district.
As a reminder, the results in Districts 3 and 7 are final because the number of provisional ballots in both districts is smaller than the margin of victory between the 15th and 16th finishers in those Delegate and Alternate elections.

Thank you for your patience during this process as we attempt to make sure the results are 100% accurate.

Thank you once again for your participation in the 2008 Louisiana Republican Caucuses.

Approimately 2/3? This is after they were instructed to register Republican in writing and verbally? Most were college kids whose reading ability is up to par. Dore sent another falsified email.

I also don't believe this. We let the (D)s and (I)s know that there was no reason to show up to the caucus; almost everyone I talked to had already switched. Those numbers DO NOT MAKE SENSE.

Ok, the way I read that email was that he's saying they didn't change party affiliation in time. Anyone else get that?

yes or that they didnt change at all.

2/3 sounds very suspect since thats what it appears to have taken to keep paul from placing higher.

it sounds like they figured out how many votes they needed to keep Paul from getting, then they fudged the results to reflect that total.

As I said before, we need to know what date they are using to make these conclusions.

As far as I know, there is no entry on the computer system to store the postmark of your application, or the date you wrote on your application. When I went into the voter registrar's office, all they could tell me was when they processed my application, not when I had applied. They had to spend literally close to an hour digging around to find my original application form so I could prove it was in on time.

If the people who are "double checking" the status of these voters are not actually checking the original applications, and just looking in the computer, many people who registered in time will have their votes thrown out.

I talked to the voter registrars office and they had HUNDREDS of applications come in just in the last 2-3 days before the deadline. None of those are going to look like they were valid "on first glance."

I think we're getting robbed here! The people who voted provisionally need to get proof on their own and demand to know whether their vote was counted!

The campaign has copies of the ballots. If there is funny business going on, they have the information needed to verify it.

Fact is, many people don't understand how registration, caucuses, primaries, etc. work, especially if they've never participated in them before. It doesn't surprise me that people voted who didn't realize they needed to change parties, or who didn't change in time.

It would surprise you if you were actually AT our caucus and met many of the people who DID register in time and were told they had to vote provisionally. It would surprise you more if you knew they were Ron Paul supporters, and just the handful that you met after a few minutes inside was almost equal to the number of provisional votes we got credit for after literally thousands of more voters went in.

I don't believe that 80% of the provisional ballots were invalid for one second.

As convoluted as this process was, many of us followed the rules they laid down, and it looks like they didn't get to vote REGARDLESS.

It sounds like every voter who cast a provisional ballot needs to get together with others in their area and en masse demand to know whether their vote was counted, and if not, why not.

This is very suspect. The GOP needs to account for how they concluded that 2/3 were not registered. They need to notify those individuals the reason their votes/status were rejected. Something is not right here, that percentage is much to high to be accurate.

Maybe they aren't counting them if they were previously registered D/I?

Does the Ron Paul campaign know which Provisionals are considered valid and which are not?

If they do, they should consider contacting all of the voters who voted Provisional
who voted for Ron Paul delegates whose ballots aren't considered valid and ask them what's up.

We are working on independently varifying the provisional people.. but it will be a long hard process. I've got people i'm waiting on to bring me their info so i can prove they are republicans.

We are in good shape in district 5 even before the provisional count.

That's amazing news. Are you in contact with anyone in other districts doing this? I have emailed some of the people I know, but I guess I'm not "in the loop."

I just hope everyone knows what I'm talking about. It seems like there was an easy loophole for them to throw out votes that should have counted, with plausible deniability. "Computers don't lie, sir!"

We are looking to prove their computer's lied. Once we do that.. perhaps we can force a recount.

I have proof sitting right here on my desk. My card says Dec-26 and my form says Nov 30th. I asked them over and over "there is no application date in the computer?" and they replied "no, all we have is when we entered the changes to your registration (which was Dec 16 or 17) and the card issue date."

I hope every other district is doing what you're doing!!!!
