Elon Musk buys Twitter for $44 billion

Twitter isn't designed right. It has features that only make sense for cell phones and using non-internet relay messaging, and so some things not implemented and with a clunky interface.

It really strikes home because I was in grad school and designed a very similar thing to these features that made sense in my design. Someone warned me that they were copying and selling ideas they got from grad school, and motioning at a professor who attended such things (and was trying to get students to design cell phone features), and lol and behold, several months later twitter beta (not released to public yet, saw an early version) was released.

I found my notebook journal the other day, and looked up what twitter claimed were their original notes - and twitter's are junk with almost nothing in it - like they are trying to beat prior claims? And looking up who actually started twitter, the person who actually started it isn't Jack Dorsey, but someine that has just gone missing.

Happened? I don't know, but a bet any twitter patents could be challenged by prior art, and I could myself.

Twitter isn't worth a billion dollars, and is junky design. Made for cell phones, it evolved into something else, which gave it a clunky interface and problems with advertisements and making money. I should know, as I thought about such things alot back then, and intentionally left out a few key parts of my design to make it work in my presentations/reports. It didn't have to be from me - but twitter looks copied, and the problem with copying others work is you don't know all the details, and won't have any more creative effort - you cut it off.

Twitter is only worth the name and the subscriber base (minus bots) and whatever switching costs and network effects is built into it. Musk could have done so much better starting from the ground up - and I have a design to sell him if he wants it lol.

Do you remember a month or so ago Elon wanted out and they were going to sue him to go thru with the deal?

Yeah, I remember that.

I also remember how TPTB wanted Musk to take over Twitter as their "controlled opposition" front man.

If Musk does end up buying Twitter, then "it was all prescripted".

And if Musk does not end up buying Twitter, then "it was all prescripted".

Everything is always "prescripted".

Elon Musk Tweets Video Entering Twitter HQ, Updates Bio to 'Chief Twit' as Deal Nears Closing

Elon Musk tweeted a video of himself entering the Twitter headquarters in San Francisco on Wednesday, holding a sink, as his deal to purchase the platform nears closing.

Musk also updated his Twitter bio to include the designation of “Chief Twit.”

“Entering Twitter HQ – let that sink in!” Musk tweeted with the video.

Earlier in the day, Musk had tweeted, “a beautiful thing about Twitter is how it empowers citizen journalism – people are able to disseminate news without an establishment bias.”
Last week, it was reported by the Washington Post that Musk plans to fire 75 percent of the company’s staff once he takes over. This means bringing the staff from approximately 7,500 workers, down to about 2,000.

The deal needs to close by Friday in order to avoid legal proceedings moving forward.

In April, Musk signed a merger agreement promising to buy the platform for $54.20 per share and take it private. The total cost ended up being $44 billion.

The terms of the agreement also included a $1 billion fee if Musk backed out.

As Timcast previously reported, Twitter filed a lawsuit against Musk in Chancery Court in Delaware on July 12. The lawsuit accuses him of “refusing to honor his obligations” after he backed out of the deal citing his belief that the company lied about the amount of fake and bot accounts on the platform.

“Twitter continues to believe that Mr. Musk’s purported termination of the merger agreement is invalid and without merit, and that the Musk parties continue to be bound by the merger agreement and obligated to complete the merger on the agreed terms and conditions,” Twitter said in a statement released shortly after the acquisition was approved. “Twitter has filed a lawsuit in the Delaware Court of Chancery to compel Mr. Musk to complete the acquisition, and Twitter remains committed to doing so on the price and terms agreed upon with Mr. Musk.”

The lawsuit also alleged that the billionaire repeatedly violated the terms of the agreement, which forbid him from disparaging the company or its leadership. It additionally accuses him of abandoning efforts to secure the funding, despite obligations in their agreement to use “reasonable best efforts” to make it happen.

If the deal is not finalized by Friday, a trial date will be set for November.

Wow...fascism must really be appealing to so many people for them to be tricked into it by allowing free speech.

Well, for the masochists who love authoritarianism (Left or Right), yes, it is viscerally appealing. Like a domesticated animal turned loose, they cannot feel safe and secure until the boot of authority is pressing them down again. That's how they know that all is right with the world....

The average Joe will now believe it is a free speech platform. No doubt nobodies with opinions will still be content moderated while the elite news media, their pundits and podcasters will continue to be allowed free speech on the platform. But that will be okay for the average Joe since the same people lying to them all the time will tell them it is a free speech platform with the only ones being moderated being spammers and racists.

This won't age well...

This won't age well...

Sure it will. For you it might be a different story and it won't age well if all your faith is in the fake news cycle listening to your favorite controlled opposition frauds that are continually posted here that you believe are the real deal. They will not be censored because the illusion must go on. Whistle blowers and nobodies on the other hand calling out elites, that will no doubt be censored.

Already he is dialing it back.
