Do we get a suprise ron paul surge in the s.c. primaries tomorrow?

CNN is up with a new article and in the article it states: "Romney and Gingrich are now essentially battling one-on-one down the stretch, with Rick Santorum in third place."

It's not an "article." It's propaganda. It omits KEY FACTS.

Fixed it for you.

Remember - the words you use count.

Use words that reflect positively, don't fall into the trap of using negative connotation words about our own selves, okay, people? :)

Yes, you're right. I was having trouble coming up with the right word, and never did. Perry-esque moment. LOL

I went and fixed the original.

I think Swingrich will do well in SC and FL, only because they border his home state of GA.

The guy is a creep and could NEVER beat Obama.

He will not do well in FL - it is very different from GA and SC.

I'm expecting a 3rd place finish.

I'm hoping we break 20%.

I'm dreaming we win a congressional district.

the problem with comparing delagate counts, is the main stream media will not focus on them, and#2 i would venture to guess that not many people out there who are not up on politcs would even know what delagate counts even have to do with the race.. i am a great example of this

It is good, I think, that the MSM is ignoring or botching their reports on the delegate counts.

We keep doing what we're doing across the nation and convention gets very ... interesting.

I cannot reveal my sources, but I've been involved with rp since 2007 even though I only recently signed up on these forums. I can tell you the crowds for gingrich today in sc are patheticalky small. I can also tell you rp is going to do much better than expected.

Also, I have strong reasons to suspect santorum will be out very soon.

The crowds for Paul in sc today are huge and energetic. The media is not reflecting reality right now.

ok i hope your soo right, so with that being said, please give us all your prediction on how the voting will go in south carolina??? thank you for this POSITIVE feedback!! im really not looking for any negativity at all, we get that with the main stream media propaganda.

The playbook is about the delegates and build up enough momentum to win couple of the states. When it becomes a two men race, Ron Paul is going to hammer down Romney with all the money he raised.

Can anyone provide a "Boots on the ground" in South Carolina perspective on what they expect tomorrow. We see these headlines of Dr. Paul's events being packed, Grinch cancelling events due to poor turnout, Santorum speaking to 10 people, etc, and Ron is polling way beyind Romney and Grinch. Are we looking at a distant 3rd here or can we close the gap with the lead pack?

Ron Paul usually does better than most people expected and he builds supporters nationally.

Funny, I went back to RedState to see if I could find that article about Ron Paul delegates, but I can't find it.

We had a report similar to this on the voting day in NH, and NH results didn't exceed expectations beyond the Zogby poll that the Campaign kept quoting in days prior to NH Primary.

So I'm very cautious reading reports such as this one. I think some of us really don't understand the power of media coverage. They did it for Santorum in Iowa, they did it for Huntsman in New Hampshire, they are doing it for Gingrich in South Carolina.

I still have no reason to expect better performance than what the polls say, as we didn't exactly blow up the polls in IA or NH.

I think Paul will do better than expected. No matter what CNN says, Ron Paul slammed Santorum on Thursday night and he looked like the most intelligent one on the stage. You don't have to be a Ron Paul supporter to see that. Furthermore, if S.C. is really as conservative as people say, then they will not be satisfied with Newt's answer about his last couple of wives. There's a lot of men who will vote and they've stuck by their wife, why shouldn't smug-ass Newt? So with a good debate performance, and a decline in Gingrich's numbers, I think that Ron Paul could do quite well.

Ron's goal right now is just to beat Santorum so he can finally go away. Gingrich is here to stay. Republicans apparently don't believe in a smaller government. They believe only in great one-liners.

which I do not find that great...

I have no idea how RP will finish, but I can tell you that this "anybody but Obama" mantra has become the theme of this election. Primaries typically draw the most hard core voters. These voters fall into two groups: Those with us and those against us. Really. Those against us will accept anyone of their candidates because they're convinced that any one of them is better than Obama and can beat Obama. Thanks to the media, they're also convinced that our guy is no concern. So where am I going with this? Well, I'm hoping that it translates into a primary where the turnout doesn't match the build-up. The status-quo voters will be content with whoever wins for them, thus providing an excuse not to make the trip to the precinct. And those with us...I hope will turn out en masse come hell or high water.

To summarize, I'm praying that their complacency and our enthusiasm will combine for a better-than-expected outcome.

Head-to-head polling between Romney and Paul is currently something like 75-25.

We should want Gingrich in as long as possible, or at least until we start winning some small caucuses or primaries to get that number way up before it really is a 2-man race.

that's without airing Mitt's dirty laundry. You'll see a lot of folks "settle" for Ron over Romney.

I am cautious after Iowa and NH, but I am feeling at least a little optimistic. Too many good things have happened here, the endorsements, Jim DeMint being very complementary, a great debate performance, the fact that he's the only vet running, not to mention Newt's issues and Romney's ceiling, etc. I am not predicting a victory but I wouldn't be terribly surprised to see us outperform the polling.

I would hope so, but sadly enough CNN's media bias is ridiculous. I went back and watched the debate again, and I noticed almost every time the audience cheers they cut to the one group of people that are just sitting there. I also notice John King likes to walk across the stage while he's in the middle of talking and make the camera zoom out.

Around 12:40 they cut to a guy with a disgusted look on his face...

Based on his crowds vs the other candidates, he should win easily!

But with voter fraud, he may not get third.

That was Fred Thompson. He always looks like that.

I seem to recall the text being posted here at the forums.

If I can find it, I will edit it into this post.

Ron Paul

A prominent friend told me some weeks ago that he noticed an odd thing. In his state, several people who have been successful in getting themselves known as very probably Mitt Romney delegates for the Republican National Convention are also his supporters. And they are not just my friends’ supporters, they are also long time staunch Ron Paul supporters.

Why then would they, long time staunch Ron Paul supporters, align this year with Mitt Romney? He made calls and talked to friends in other states. All of them saw the same thing happening — long time Dr. Paul supporters working to become delegates to the convention pledging to support Mitt Romney and others.

If the field stays fractured at this level, with only a few people, but each getting delegates enough to prevent the front runner from an outright majority, there will be a second vote at the Republican National Convention.

Delegates are only locked in for their candidate during the first vote. After the first vote, they can vote for whoever they want. So if Mitt Romney is unable to clear an outright majority on the first ballot, suddenly he could see some of his delegates turn on him — turn and go back to Ron Paul.

It is an ingenious strategy premised on a convention where no one gets majority support early. It plays well to a primary calendar where the delegates are first awarded proportionally. Who knows if it is a campaign strategy or just his volunteers, but the Paul campaign has been active now for four years trying to take over local parties.

It may pay off if the GOP doesn’t unite around a candidate soon
