Someone needs to put together a video that combines the RNC and DNC teleprompter shams and make it go viral.
You beat me to it. Same disregard for rules, and in essence, a disregard for democracy. They only want voting if it goes their way.
Who are the RPF's video wizards. A thirty second ad. Showing BOTH parties subverting the will of the party delegates. THIS could be the awakening!
I've wondered since I've been through the convention process, is it really that much of an inconvenience to count the votes? None of this verbal bullshit. Yeah, I know it would take longer to have each side stand and be counted, but if I were a chairman, I don't think I'd want to risk my chairmanship on a bad call.
According to the Associated Press, the President himself intervened aggressively to try to reinstate the language, despite the intentions of much of the grass roots that are supporting him. This was a top-down decision to reverse a bottom-up process.
The convention chair, Antonio Villaraigosa, proposed new language to change the platform to reinstate the previous language that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. A 2/3rds vote at the venue was needed to change the platform. Villaraigosa asked for the vote, and clearly, according to people at the scene, the "no's" had it. Villaraigosa repeated his call for the vote three times and all three times the "no's" appeared to outnumber the "aye's. Instead of asking for a roll call vote which is required by the rules, Villaraigosa chose to ignore the voters in the room and advance the new language, proclaiming, "In the opinion of the chair the aye's have it." This was clearly a denial of reality. Boos were heard throughout the arena.

Expecting most outlets of the MSM to criticize Dems is like expecting Fox to criticize the GOP....not gonna happen. The decision to reverse a bottom up decision only bothers a few people...

Don't know if it has been mentioned int he thread, but the Dem platform removed the name of God from the platform. This vote reinserted the old language which included the phrase "God-given talents". The Dems caught a lot fo crap over the last day or so by removing God from the Dem platform for the first time ever.
Interesting that the DNC requires a 2/3 vote to change the platform, while the GOP requires a simple majority (plus a teleprompter) to change its rules.
Wouldn't that actually make the GOP more "democratic" than the Democratic party?

The Democrats restored language affirming Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and putting mentions of God back into their platforms in a quick voice vote that the Democratic chair declared had passed. A Democratic source says that President Obama personally interevened to change the language. Convention chair Antonio Villaraigosa held three voice votes — two of which failed, before Villaraigosa declared the third passed with a two-third majority.
After passage, boos were heard in the convention hall — prompting RNC spokesman Tim Miller to tweet: "Widespread boos for Jerusalem and God in the convention hall."

Politico loves them some Obama...they won't do a thing to embarrass his party. The spin is on. Just some people being loud. A couple of boos. Nothing to see here.
Interesting that getting that platform in is as important to the DNC as keeping Ron Paul out was to the RNC...
That is interesting. Do you think they are related?
