Did the SC audience really boo Ron Paul on this?

I think the main reason they boo'd that comment is because in their eyes, OBL threw that out the window when he helped commit the attack on 9/11. neocons are/were angry and wanted retribution for what they see as a completely unmotivated/unprovoked killing of american lives. i think the crowd took it as ron saying give OBL a pass.

it just wasn't the right way to wrap up that message for that crowd. SC is such a heavily militaristic state that most of those people probably border as ultra-nationalists. if you view them as such, a lot of their cheering/booing starts making more sense.

I was horrified at the crowd.

The neocons intend to completely destroy traditional conservatism in the United States.

Even my neocon friends can not believe he got booed. The blowback will happen. Ron will rise in the polls again.

Glen Beck program leading with Paul being booed. They're acting like a-holes.

Clearchannel mentioning the boos at every radio update.

The attack is ON.

Those are "good" Christians booing the Christian value of doing unto others. What a bunch of hypocrites.

Thing is, many American Christians are NOT true Christians! They might have a belief in god, but people like this audience really couldn't give a damn about their religion. "God" is just arrogance to feed their ego.

I think this pretty much leaves no doubt that there was a large organized effort in the audience to create negative sentiment towards Ron Paul regardless of what he was saying:

Did Ron Paul seriously get booed when promoting a concept that every child is taught as a core value? It is mind boggling how people could disagree and argue against the idea of treating others how you would like to be treated.

As I recall, this was at the tail-end of a long answer that Ron Paul was giving. They started booing him over the Osama thing that could have been stated better. That set the tone for the rest of his answer. He mentioned the Golden Rule to attempt to better explain what he had said about Osama. It simply did not work.

Now Beck clarifiying....weakly. He agrees "in premise" with Paul's take. But "we cannot withdraw the troops overnight."
Well thanks for the ten minutes of joking about Ron you jerkoff. Go back to kissing Newts ass you clown.

Stunning.... I'm terribly sad that my faith has been so devastatingly hijacked by hypocrites. No wonder we are mocked, because satanist disguised as Christians are doing their best to make it so. What do people not understand about the PRINCE OF PEACE?!!

I guess some Christians don't read the Bible. It sits on the dashboard of their truck so people can see it, and that is its purpose. I'm hoping that there were just alot of atheist who love war profiteering in the audience.

Hey now not all us atheists have any use for war profiteering, it's a stupid zero-sum game that will only get us all killed in the end, regardless of our faith or lack thereof.

...because those people were largely morons.

First they boo a soldier, now they boo the golden rule. That was truly a brain-dead Santorumite audience. Of course Beck and his boyfriends are gonna poke fun at this.

Wow, I hope that was a plant and not actual voters booing! That's absolutely horrific, in my opinion. However, I guess it doesn't matter, because this will be used by the media to promote their "Ron Paul is dangerous/unelectable/fringe/liberal/etc.," agenda, regardless of whether it's legit or not.

I've been lurking around other boards this morning and the message is the same, the South Carolina audience after the debate probably went and rushed Fort Sumter to bring back the glory years.

Somebody was quoting a line from The Economist that said something like "this crowd will be depressed when they find out there won't be a public hanging afterwards."

South Carolina showed their own stupidity in this debate. I wouldn't worry about Ron Paul.

I think it's a net positive. It's probably going to attract a lot of attention from the liberal left. "Republicans in South Carolina boo the golden rule"... and the articles will entail how it proves Republicans will carelessly spread war. I wonder sometimes if neocons realize that they are in the minority when it comes to foreign policy.

I wonder if there are any good Christian leaders in south Carolina who are willing to stand up and defend the good doctor and their saviors admonition, rebuke those in that crowd who would give false witness to what it means to follow the word.

Similar to how they've called out good Muslims to stand up and rebuke those in their midst for what they deem as acts offensive to God and all good people.

Can I get a witness?

Who shall step forward?

I think that is helpful. I do not know whether you are correct or not, but at least you (and VBRonPaulFan) are trying to understand the motives of those who attack us.

Which is not only what Dr. Paul does, but also what he would probably want us to do.

My suspicion, for what it is worth, was that there were a bunch of militant secularists at the debate who booed because Dr. Paul referred to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

:D

When the booing started, he should have made a point to the audience that that a religious State like NC, should be ashamed to boo the golden rule and if they felt that strong, nothing is stopping them from going over to Afghanistan and Iran, giving it their all, as a mercenary without ties to the USA. It would be your individual choice to make.
