Did the SC audience really boo Ron Paul on this?

When the booing started, he should have made a point to the audience that that a religious State like NC, should be ashamed to boo the golden rule and if they felt that strong, nothing is stopping them from going over to Afghanistan and Iran, giving it their all, as a mercenary without ties to the USA. It would be your individual choice to make.

While that would have been fun for us to watch .... my first thought is of sports rule #1 - never attack the fans. I think there's a parallel to that here. he got the cheers at the end.

CNN just showed a collection of clips from the debate last night. Gingrich, Romney, Santorum, Paul, in that order.

Guess which clip they used for Paul? Yep. So blatant.

the booing of the Golden Rule will help us. Mark my words.

I suspect you are right.

Glen Beck program leading with Paul being booed. They're acting like a-holes.

Clearchannel mentioning the boos at every radio update.

The attack is ON.

I am hopeful it will backfire.

Some people will say, "Ha-ha! Ron Paul! What a fool! He deserved to be booed!"
These people were never going to come over to our side, anyway.

Others will say, "I don't agree with Ron Paul on foreign policy, but booing him for what he said was ridiculous!"
These people will become somewhat more sympathetic to our side, even if they don't agree with us.

Still others will say, "Ron Paul was actually making a very good point! Those boos were just rude & boorish!"
These people will come over to our side or will be leaning our way.

The cretins in the MSM probably think they're putting RP in a bad light (after all, "Ron Paul was booed - that must be bad for him"), which is why they're pumping this clip.

And they are probably right - when it comes to people who are already adamantly opposed to Ron Paul.

But when it comes to those who are not already opposed to Ron Paul on this issue, those boos will only emphasize & reinforce any tendencies to move towards RP.

Wait, they cheered him at the end....

GO RON PAUL, THE MASTER NEVER BACKS DOWN!!!

I'd donate more if I wasnt already maxed.

What has the propaganda matrix, i.e. the media, been saying about the debate crowd?

I bet they are dying to attack them as senseless thugs but fear that it would be a net positive for Ron Paul if they discredit the idiots in the audience.

US have bombed: El Salvador 1980s, Nicaragua 1980s, Grenada 1983, Lebanon and Syria 1983, 1984, Libya 1986, 2011, Iran 1987, Panama 1989, Kuwait 1991, Iraq 1991-2009, Somalia 1993, Bosnia 1994, 1995, Sudan 1998, Afghanistan 1998, 2001-present, Yugoslavia 1999, Pakistan 2008-present.

Though, even though the Fox News guys had forgotten about all this bombing, I'm sure they'll tell us that each one was in defense of being attacked while innocently flying our bombers over foreign lands.

The hard part is getting these idiots to look in the mirror and seeing the devil. They squeal like pigs when backed into the corner, so when Ron reminded them tonight of the golden rule, it hit them in their wooden hearts and made them yelp. God has them on death's row for their being accomplices in the mass murder of innocents.

It was so frustrating to watch, especially after he hit a total homerun with the first foreign policy question. In regard to terrorism, the problem is not his message, it's the delivery. He could have said:

"Look, if I had been President, bin Laden would probably have been dead 8 years ago because we would have been focused instead of spreading our troops all over Iraq and Afghanistan. We needed to finish the job and come home. These endless entanglements have not and will not work. We gave bin Laden weapons in the 70's, we gave Saddam weapons in the 80's. All of this stuff comes back to bite us. This is what the CIA calls 'blowback.' We need to learn from our mistakes and stop making them."

Those boo's were not from fans, they were enemies of the US Constitution.

I just heard an older self described gentleman call up Geraldo, voicing serious dismay with the crowd's reaction to the golden rule. Geraldo agreed but of course moved the subject back to Newt's ridiculous poor kids as janitors mularkey. Anyhow I suspect this golden rule line won over many.

Thanks for this post.

...because those people were largely morons.

I don't agree.

If you want to explain something to conservatives, you do not use terms in your explanation that sound leftist. Because what that does is set off alarms in conservatives' minds and then they start shutting out what you are saying.

I love him, but Dr. Paul did not do a good job on that Osama answer. He simply did not. He could have approached it differently and I think the outcome would have been much better. At least they would have heard what he was trying to say.

Good post, +rep.

Curious why nobody plays that clip of Murdoch saying he supports the war with Iraq, but doesn't think the voters would be swayed by his manipulations... sickening.

Agreed. I think he got too far ahead of himself. Ron really needs to focus on answering the questions in a practical, pragmatic way and not get off track. There is no reason for him to start mentioning chinese dissidents.
