Despite the latest polls i think reps will do well in November

I agree. We cant get anything done in the minority.

Then I’d rather nothing get done at all. It’s going downhill fast enough, why contribute.

Why is it that it’s always easier, and the default, to bring everybody down instead of bringing them up? Relationships are like that too, so the best course of action is to just leave the relationship.

You want perfection or nothing.
You will never get perfection so you always get nothing.

Some of us know how to make incremental progress towards out goals.

I think you are on the right track. I have been voting with a purpose. In 2008 and 2012 my main purpose was to punish the GOP for providing a crappy liberal product. By rejecting McCain and Romney, the GOP should get the signal that the market wants something different. In 2016 Trump was definitely something different from Jeb! and GOP voters put forth a new brand. I support the movement away from McCain/Romney/Jeb! and toward a new approach.

Trump is very different that Ron Paul obviously, but he broke the hold of neocons and for that I am grateful. This to me is incremental progress. We aren't going to end the fed in one election but at least we are on a different path that gives us options.

Now the question is, can we push the GOP to adopt the Austrian School of Economics?

It is a goal that looks to me to be more realistic than it was under the neocon rule of the GOP.

Depends. Is that more important to Republicans than Trump is?

Don't look now, but that brat can actually out-borrow a Bush.

Again your TDS is blinding you. Appropriations come from the House of Representatives, not the President. Spending is a joint effort and disaster of the House, the Senate and the President.

We need the Republican party as a whole to get on board with the Austrian School of Economics. Getting the President on board is obviously a huge and critical part of that. It is my hope that Rand Paul and others could help make that happen. It is an uphill battle to be sure, but still a worthwhile goal. This window of opportunity may be small, but it is much bigger than it was under neocons.

I couldn't help but notice that Trump handily outspent Obama because I'm deranged? Does that mean you think he didn't?

You think I believe the president has veto power because I'm deranged? Do you think veto power is a myth?

Do you think supporting Trump will help spread Austrian economics through the GOP? Do his multiple private sector bankruptcies lead you to that conclusion?

Ever hear of Operation Warp Speed? Did you happen to notice who was cheerleading that?

Yes, somebody's deranged here. I think you need a mirror to find him. But, hey. Thanks for the compliment. If someone who thinks these things calls me deranged, I find it very reassuring.

I measure progress by the amount of division in this country.

By that meter, progress over the past few years has been exceptional

Nul, no, no, no, no, nul, yes, yes.

Thinking that spending money we don't have is irresponsible doesn't make you deranged. You do have TDS though.

Not as deranged as the people who say, hey, let's take the most painful and contentious issue of the age and renominate the guy who bragged the hardest on the most channels about bringing it to pass!

We don't yet if Trump will run again. I really couldn't care less if you vote for him or Liz Cheney.

Maybe you will vote Democrat or even Libertarian. Let me say again, I don't give a crap who you vote for. In fact I don't even know what you are for, only that you have TDS. The crying has gotten old.

So, forget it about, move on, keep doing the same repetitious thing over and again, like it has been done for the past 250 years?

Who/how/what/when do we start holding them fully accountable?

By them, do you mean politicians and the crooks behind them?

"There are four boxes to be used in the defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and cartridge. Please use in that order."

I see the Republican primary elections as one way to hold politicians accountable. Right now the best option I see is to replace globalists, like Liz Cheney, with what at least appears to be non-globalists. That is why I am in favor of replacing neocons with Trump endorsed candidates, because at least there is a sentiment by Republican voters to move away from establishment globalists. I don't know if it will increase our liberty, but it is worth a shot. This is the biggest political movement in many decades and it is an opportunity if nothing else.

And you don't care that a bunch of partisan with their partisan panties in partisan knots over a search warrant are talking about throwing that opportunity away because they want to give their most compromised crook a chance at revenge.

Trump said he could go down the street killing people and the partisans would still be behind him. But partisan are outnumbered by independent voters who aren't so obliging.

With the likes of Oz? lol

Not seeing politics as an answer, but rather the cancer, I'm doing things a little differently. Too long to post here, but a couple of examples; when I'm at the store, I talk to the demoncrat lady who is anti-gun and tell her "what a shame, if only that innocent college girl was armed she wouldn't have been raped/mugged". When I run into a small business owner, I show them "republican" records and show how they all increase spending. I explain what personal liberty really means and give them a few pages to read out of The End of All Evil and An Agorist Primer.

It doesn't matter to me anymore whether a demon or repuG is in office, one is worse than the other and vice versa. But I do call the D and R offices and tell them what issues I oppose. This will not be solved overnight, but the more people I can direct to liberty, or at least get them to think... reaching the hearts and minds is what Ron talks about all of the time. Einstein was right too, which is why I don't vote anymore.

Your TDS seems to be getting you down.

Trump has an odd way of choosing who to endorse for sure, not that I am saying was is as bad as the McCain or Romney endorsements. The only good thing I know about Oz is that he was an early promoter of Hydroxychloroquine.

Politics is a cancer, but there is no getting away from it unfortunately. I think talking with people as you do is good and somewhat helpful. I have also learned that you can have a conversation with an anti-gunner and get her to agree with you after she understands your point... and then the very next day she is right back to her previous anti-gun position. Educating people makes a very limited difference. It is when something happens in their own life that the new understanding takes hold. It seems to me that people largely position when they discover the truth, more than when someone else shows them the truth. Hopefully your conversations help them recognize the truth once they discover it for themselves.
