CSPAN - Kucinch will vote YES on healthcare

Limbaugh just reported something about the wife of Kucinich being seduced by Michelle Obama, with some job on her "chldhood obesity" campaign.

Not surprising, Kucinich is with us on war and civil rights, otherwise he tows the socialist line.

Ohh hell just another message they just probley ingore you could use.

It should be obvious to all congressmen by now that the American people are not in favor of an unconstitutional, government takeover of the health care system in this country. This issue has been the impetus for the huge groundswell of opposition to big government that swept the nation this summer, and continues to do so.

Any "yes" vote on this matter will be a top issue in the upcoming congressional election campaigns. Americans are simply tired of the constant attempt to have socialized medicine rammed down their throats.

The President's proposal is another costly plan that actually increases penalties for those who won't or can't purchase insurance, expands the federal role in the private sector by creating a federal insurance regulatory scheme that also undermines state sovereignty, and contains some probable taxpayer-funded abortion coverage.

To use the budget reconciliation process in order to avoid a filibuster and achieve passage using a 51-vote majority is an abuse of the intent, meaning, and spirit of the legislative process.

Despite all the talk about bipartisanship, the smoke-and-mirror rhetoric and the bogus health care summit, President Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are working overtime to advance their "Government Knows Best" agenda. And, they're moving full steam ahead with their dubious scheme to pass what they view as the
ultimate prize - a government takeover of one-sixth of our nation's economy.

In fact, according to the Associate Press, "Barack Obama says he will persuade Congress to pass his health care overhaul even if it kills him."

All this, despite the fact that an overwhelming majority of Americans have already rejected ObamaCare. Perhaps just as disturbing as their continued push to advance legislation that the American people do not want is the process by which they are choosing to do so. The plan to ram ObamaCare through using so called "reconciliation" is downright offensive.

Yet, the President and Congressional Leadership have chosen to ignore that message and move forward with yet more of the same underhanded tactics. Moreover, it's becoming increasingly clear that this entire exercise to push ObamaCare was never about making health care more affordable and accessible to everyday Americans. If that were the goal, it would have been done already. According to some estimates, eradicating taxes on health care would conceivably reduce the cost by 25-30% immediately. And, meaningful tort reform to end the practice of defensive medicine and permitting the American people to shop across state lines would lower the cost even more.

Yet, none of those common-sense provisions have been seriously considered.

Simply put, the American people want ObamaCare defeated once and for all. No more back rooms deals. No more procedural shenanigans. No more ObamaCare!

Despite the fact that the Senate tried to allay gun owners' concerns, the Senate bill would still allow the ATF to troll the confidential medical records in order to take guns away from potentially tens of millions of Americans. This is because the "individual mandate" in Sections 1501 and 1502 of the Senate-passed bill would make it impossible for people to keep private, medical information out of the government-controlled medical database that was created by the stimulus bill.

The process that put together this Senate bill has been marked with bribes (such as the Cornhusker Kickback, the Louisiana Purchase, etc.), by unconstitutional mandates and by corrupt procedures. As to corruption, any rules vote on your part which "deems" ObamaCare as passed will be held in the greatest contempt by your constituents.

Also,

1.)I believe it still encourages Euthanasia by giving doctors a monetary incentive to persuade the elderly during "end-of-life counseling" to sign "Do Not Resuscitate" orders to pull the plug, or deny simple air, food or water.

Can we ask what this "consensus-based organization" is that would "endorse" these measures to determine whether treatment should be continued or not?

2.)Fully funds abortions, which 71% of all tax-payers oppose,is breaking President Obama's promise "no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions."

As a pro-life American, I adamantly oppose any plan brought to the table that will require me to pay for abortions with my tax dollars. Any government run health care system with this provision is bad for America and violates the deeply held beliefs of many Americans. Just think of China's One-child Policy of how bad this could end up being.

Furthermore, I am disgusted by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's deceptive course of action in expediting his own version of a trillion-dollar healthcare reform plan. Reid's underhanded tactics and comments are an insult to pro-life Americans, seniors and fiscal conservatives.

3.)That increased government control of private Christian and Catholic hospitals will endanger freedom of religious expression by doctors and patients, and result in litigation to censor and remove Christian symbols from chapels and common use areas.

4.)The plan uses statistics to judge whether someone may be readmitted to the hospital. A patient will be allowed readmission only if a certain number of people with the same "applicable condition" have been discharged from that hospital. This is rationing, pure and simple.

Rather than spend trillions of dollars on bureaucratic red-tape, please refund that money to the tax-payers, and encourage us to keep or purchase our own private health care insurance, choosing our own doctors and options.

You represent my state, not the "state of Nancy Pelosi." Americans overwhelmingly oppose this legislation. Please -- please listen to your constituents and vote against ObamaCare.

Surprise...a socialist is a socialist. Call the press.

The bill is more Fascist than Socialist. Both ideologies should be equally opposed because it is a mandate for everyone to enter the market with a public option rather than an attempt to free up the market or a universal option that is paid for by the entire body.

During the press conference being held when the CSPAN 3 link was posted . . .

When Kucinich was asked about "deem and pass" -
Kucinch said he was NOT talking about that process for passage -
the implication was that he didn't agree with that for the passage of this healthcare reform.

He is voting for this bill to save Obama's presidency . . . what a really terrible motive.

It is a sell-out, especially after when last week he was for getting troops out of Afghanistan.

Well I can't sit here and watch C-span continuously to see what Kucinich said so I'll have to wait for the youtube. But from the link I posted the "self executing option" requires a vote.

Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised when Kucinich voted against the healthcare bill the first time. Kucinich and Grayson are good on the wars, being against the domestic surveillance state and the fed. They're wrong on most everything else. I'm disappointed that he caved in, but not greatly surprised.

I disagree with Dennis on almost everything, but I thought I could at east respect him for standing up for his principles. No more.

Gee, it might be nice if congress exercises a "self-executing option."

I'll even pitch in for the blindfolds.

Kucinich Caved In! Kucinich the Caveman!

Mr. Grayson voted, just recently, for the Patriot Act extension. It now seems that Mr. Kucinich will vote for corporatism. I can only hope this drives more individuals to support policies and ideas, and causes less individuals to support personalities. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that many, being emotionally attached to these personalities, will rationalize away their own beliefs in concert with those personalities.

This is sad. However I may disagree with Kucinich on many issues, still, I admired him for sticking to his principles. Now, he is voting for the corporate health mandated plan...oh well, bye bye Democrats in November...seriously, they just don't get how FORCING people to buy things is a crap idea, especially when so many people are out of work.

The bill is more Fascist than Socialist. Both ideologies should be equally opposed because it is a mandate for everyone to enter the market with a public option rather than an attempt to free up the market or a universal option that is paid for by the entire body.

Exactly. This is why I was shocked that Dennis voted for it.

I'm surprised that so many are surprised.
and that there are so many threads about this. :(

I hope he gets voted out for selling out.
With this move, he likely secured the support of the individuals in leadership, so I doubt that will happen. Besides, incumbent advantage will save him. I think that most individuals believe that politicians, in general, are corrupt. However, they refuse to accept that "their one" is corrupt and will, therefore, rationalize, to the bitter end, that "their one" is the exception to the rule. Incumbent advantage is derived from this mentality.

Someone else posted his vote probably has something to do with what's going on between his wife and Michelle Obama.. Wouldn't be surprised.

Didn't Kucinich speak out against this bill?? Has he ever been known to vote for something he spoke out against?

I hope he gets voted out for selling out.

Maybe his vote just had to do WITH being voted back IN.. After all, he is a Democrat.. I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of people in his district think they want this bill passed.

Kucinich Feb 24 :
"The new proposal starts with a wholly unacceptable Senate health care bill and, with a few exceptions,
continues to make it worse. It's a much better bill for insurance company investors than it is for the American people."
