CNN anchors pretend they're having a "satellite interview" in the same parking lot

This reminds me of when I lived in South Florida, there were a few years in the mid 2000's that had tropical storm/hurricanes coming in every couple weeks.

And there's always 100 reporters standing in the rain and wind talking about the weather....and sometimes those tropical storms/hurricanes really flamed out...So You'd have a reporter pointing to Palm trees which blow even when it's not that windy..and showing palm tree fronds falling all over the ground and the waves picking up...

And the reporter tells everyone to stay inside...it's not worth the risk...

And some young adults walk in the background and walking around like there's not a drop of wind or rain. They are in Tshirts, sandals, and shorts (meanwhile the reporter is decked out like he's fishermen on world's deadliest catch) ...they can hacky sack in the background and there's no rain or wind...

Sometimes a random guy is in the background with an umbrella pulled backgrounds and he's falling backward as if the wind is about to carry him away. He's like a Charlie Chapman behind the reporter acting like it's the worst wind ever....Then after 2 minutes...just starts walking normal, like nothing...HAHAHAHA

Those guys would just crack me up and the news guys would just keep going on and on about the dangerous conditions...but they are completely *BUSTED*

The media is all an act. It's entertainment, media journalism in school should be part of the Liberal Arts section where the students in Acting get their degrees. It's a branch of theater, nothing more.

The sad part is somebody is watching MSM enough to catch things like that.

Even sadder are the masochistic tendencies that voluntarily ingesting fear mongering from MSM's "The-Newz" points to..

Be scared Johnny-n-Suzy, and look to government to protect you..

That is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. How in the hell did they not notice that all the same cars were passing through their shots?

All these gifs are slowing my comp down big time. Anyway, they DONT CARE. These clues are only picked up by the smartest and most observant and those people are still a tiny percentage. The audio is what matters most......

CNN is up to it's old tricks again. Remember this fake broadcast during the first gulf war? It is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

It's very likely that both commentators aren't in that parking lot but in front of blue screens at their studios.

It's 2013 and they are on a satellite connection 20-30ft away from each other. Does that clear it up?

Are they both 20-30 feet from the studio? If they sat next to each other would the two shots not still show the same background?

Weird and stupid stuff happens in news, mostly because of the lack of intelligent conspiracy.

Being 2013 makes it a lot easier to be on satellite links. They are additionally probably doing incredibly harsh things to the audio and IFB's.

All the engineers involved would have been praying for an intelligent conspiracy to show up and save them from the routing nightmare.

I have been on both CNN, and headline news before. It was the same day, and location only 30mins apart. Because they technically are 2 separate networks (though same parent company) they were required by various contracts too send; 2 satellite trucks, 2 cameras and operators, 2 sound techs and equipment, 2... Etc. it ends up being about 2 groups of 20 persons. This is what happened here im sure.

I agree this is most likely the case. A lot of broadcast workers are union workers.

Or, maybe the producer/director just thought it made for a more dynamic, more interesting shot to have them on a split-screen rather than a wide angle. Could have just been an artistic call.

CNN pretends to have a “satellite interview” - both women are in the same parking lot

And the satellite was actually just a golf ball on a string attacked to a rod.

That's crazy. Was this recent?

I remember watching this live and thinking that it looks so fake. They even act like it to the point of it seems comical.

Never could say for sure, the conspiracy seems to have been debunked though.

How do the debunkers explain the acting? realistic?

We've apparently reached a point where we are so advanced, that it is easier to send a digitalized version of a voice recording to outer space, have that message be re-routed via satellite to a destination, sent back to earth from space, be un-digitalized and played back - instead of walking 30 feet across a parking lot to talk to someone.

Also, Nancy Grace is a frothy, raging lunatic.

Very interesting at first; but further digging turns up this informative thread about the video: http://metabunk.org/threads/1140-De...arles-Jaco-and-the-Fake-Live-Gulf-War-Reports

Yeah maybe it's real, or "debunked". It's still freaking hilarious.

It's curious how there is no satellite time delay between the anchor in Atlanta and Charles Jaco in Saudi Arabia when they are talking back and forth. This is in the early '90s. What form of communication in that time does not involve a delay between locations ~7000 miles apart?

Of course, if they were faking it they would have faked a delay. So how were they able to communicate without a delay?
