kewl, so are there any good databases for local,online radio and major radio stations state by state so we can focus on emailing,calling and going into the station?

no we are going to have to be airheads and pirate radio and occupy the stations where needed and deliver this to them in person if we have to ,we need to make calls,email and knock on radio doors. Get your Water pistols Ready;)

If you want your song played on radio, there are people you hire to do that. Radio stations usually only listen to those people. They can't play the song if they don't have the song. They aren't going to try to find the song if people request it.

to a point yes but you can also get it played by going in i did it in 2008 for mtn radio stations. A sure fire way to get the song played is to buy advertisements as well. Which is how i got a ron paul song played on air and extra coverage of ron paul 2008. you bring them the song. I didn't have to bring a water pistol!

I thought it was obvious you bring the song or send it to them! I dj as well

Do you know who these people are? I think I'm even more clueless then sailingaway :) Ive asked the band if the radio stations have the song, just waiting for a reply.

iowa college stations and college stations across the country would be a good first target;) then a few larger iowa stations and other stations in the market and the rest will come along once we get some local air play! Any Iowans have suggestions on what stations to target first in Iowa?? We could call and email but would be best to have local iowa college students go to the college stations and locals to other stations we target!!

I think it would be great if somehow a show in Iowa before the caucus at one of the colleges to fire up the youth on get out the vote.

OK we have a lot of good ideas in this thred and I dont want them to go to waste. A college tour in Iowa is a great idea. lets say the band want and can do it. how do we go abouts organizing something like this. OW what about the rock the revolution tour that just didnt take off.http://www.rocktherevolutiontour.com/ They must have an idea on what we can do.

I'm not a rock show promoter, but my guess would be to consult with the band first. Available dates, band needs, campus availability, etc.
