Next weekend, I will be in NYC, and will be stopping by the Wall Street Protests. I would like to bring as many copies of "End the Fed" and "Revolution: A Manifesto" as I can. I feel that these books as the ones that would be able to connect to the protesters the best, as they open with discussions on the disastrous state of our economic and political systems, while Liberty Defined opens up with a discussion about why abortion is immoral, which I do not believe the protesters will connect with.

Please help me finance this here: http://ronpaulbooks.chipin.com/ron-paul-books-at-wall-street-protests

I am a college student and have already spent much of my money buying books for school, I cannot afford to spend much more on them. It would also help me quite a great deal if anyone knew how to get these books cheaply and in bulk. Thank you in advance for whatever generosity you can provide. If any of you have already maxed out on donations to the campaign or are foreign and can't donate to the campaign, this is a way to help.

I hate to self bump, but given that these protests seem to be gaining a ton of momentum, I really think that having an intellectual presence in these protests would be a big benefit to the liberty movement.

Going to be difficult with everyone devoting spare funds to EoQ and BTO already.

I already tried to get interest in this and no one was interested, so good luck. PM me your address and I will ship them direct to you. I need assurance though that they will end up there.

By the way, I'm just curious as to what you will be sending me? I just want to know what to expect.

Good luck with the project, and don't limit yourself to just books, you can get a ton of slimjims for the same cost of a single book.

This is very true. I'll get as much Ron Paul material as possible. If I get any money in the next day I'll immediately use it to buy slimjims from the store so it counts towards the end of quarter push.

Which Slim Jims will you plan on buying?
The only ones I see that wouldn't completely alienate the sort of people at the protests is End the Fed.

Slimjims would be better, imo. I'm sure a lot of them went up there with the expectation that the group of protestors might supply them with food. You can feed the hungry and get information out at the same time. Also, like Razmear said, it would be more cost effective, too.

The key to a man's heart is his stomach, right? Maybe that same phrase would work here, too. The key to a protestor's mind is his stomach. No? Blah. I'll go stick my nose in a corner somewhere now.

I remember handing out bottled water with Ron Paul stickers on it back in 2007, this might be a good chance to do that again.

water bottles with ron paul stickers at occupy wall street. yes.

The more money I can raise, the more things I could bring. Handing out snacks and water with Ron Paul logos is definitely a solid idea. I can probably do this pretty cheaply if I just get a bunch of empty plastic bottles, fill them up with tap water, and slap a Ron Paul sticker on it.

It would only alienate people that probably wouldn't vote for Paul in the first place. Plus, they (vegans/vegetarians) won't want one...which is one extra chance to convert someone else. If they make veggy slimjims...it wouldn't be a bad idea to have variety, though.

However, assuming they are all vegans or they're all socialists or whatever is wrong. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that genuinely want to help fix the problem, but they simply don't know how. Maybe that will give them a push in the right direction and spur some debate.

If you decide to do slim jims, what would be in the literature? They're protesting corporatism. It should probably have something to do with that.

I'm too tired to go any further, hah. But something about how Paul will curb that trend...whether it be through his voting record, his stances, or whatever. We have to remember that they probably don't give a shit about politics...they just know something is wrong.

Cheapest bottled water is about 12 cents a bottle, probably better to give sealed bottled than taking the time to fill your own recycled bottles.

Or that. I imagine they can get water from any fountain, though. Food might be harder to come by. I just like the idea of anything practical that they can use, regardless of if they support us or not. It helps both of our causes.

I said in another thread that I would go down there to distribute. But I lost track of that thread and it's progress. I guess it fell apart.

But the offer still stands.

Note: We should probably come up with a gift note to write in the front of each book. You know, something briefly explaining the purpose of the gift and encouraging the protesters to continue their peaceful efforts to change the status quo. That way, if the protesters one day turn violent and a reporter finds a book, they'll see that we tried to encourage peace and education. ...rather than misinterpret the presence of the books that are around.

Just a reminder. Ron Paul is running in the Republican Primary so if you see any Republican voters among the protesters give them the books.
